Something for the Weekend

I visited my parents back in my hometown last week and it brought
back memories.

When I left coaching baseball at the University there and was living
in Portsmouth, Ohio - a few friends suggested me pursuing jobs as
things like a pharmaceutical rep or maybe go into medical equipment
sales.

While I appreciated their help as I was trying to decide what direction
to go moving forward, those suggestions really never peaked my interest.

I didn't want to settle.

I didn't want to look back 30 or 40 years from now thinking I could
have done so much more and wishing I hadn't wasted time doing
something  I didn't love.

So I set out on a different path and pursued what I was passionate
about.

It's been about 8 years and I have zero regrets.

I couldn't be more happy with direction my career has taken.

All because I didn't settle.

So do me a favor over the weekend and give some thought to your
dreams and your career.

Could it be more fulfilling?

Could it have more impact?

Could it give you more freedom?

Could it provide more for you and your family?

When you look back 20, 30 or 40 years from now - will you feel like
you  settled for less than you were capable of?

My job is to help you have no regrets when it comes to your business
or your career.

But I can't do much until you decide that you're not going to settle.

Will you?

Have a great weekend!

Pat

Did you see it?

Did you check out the post Bill Hartman, Mike Robertson &
Eric Cressey did on assessments over at the blog?

They're back with Part II and they even discuss how assessments
should be used for bootcamps.

Check out their post here:

http://fitbusinessinsider.com/better-or-tired/

And don't forget - if you don't have a copy of their Assess & Correct
product - a must have - I've asked them to pass on any affiliate
commission I'd have received for recommending it as a savings for you.

So if you order before March 3rd and use the coupon code ‘RIGSBY’
you’ll get $30 off the normal price - so it'll be $97 instead of $127.

3 Lessons From My Current Projects

I've been spending a lot of time the past few days
working on two big upcoming projects:

Bootcamp Bootcamp 2.0 and The Facility Formula

And I wanted to share with you some of the things
we'll be doing for the people we work with (you) that
you should be doing for your clients...

:: Offering Step-By-Step Success Blueprints - We've
decided that the best way to help the people we work
with is by offerings a literal 'paint by numbers' formula
to follow. Nothing else comes close.

You should do the same.  Take the guesswork out of
everything. Tell your clients what to do on their 'off days',
teach them how to eat for results and tell them what
supplements will help them get them most from work with you.

:: Be Innovative - We're rolling out my new Reverse Marketing
Funnel System and my Fitness Business Scorecard System to
make sure the people we work with have an extra edge on
their competition.

Are you staying on top of new and innovative ways to
help your clients get results faster - you should be.  Keep
things fresh and keep them excited about what you're
doing.

:: Make It Personal - We try to do as much as we can to
stay personal in our programs with One Day Coaching,
fr.ee access to Bootcamp Bootcamp and one-on-one
coaching calls for Bootcamp Blueprint members and
will offer similar personal access for The Facility Formula.

I personally think it's the most important thing we do.

You should be trying to have more personal contact
with your clients too. Personal calls, meeting for coffee,
a personal note or a few minutes after a session all
can transform someone from client to fan and give you a
lot more insight into what's important to them.

So spend so time looking at what you do and implement
some of those things that we currently do and are
working on for Bootcamp Bootcamp 2.0 and The Facility
Formula - they'll have a powerful impact on your business.

Dedicated to your success -

Pat

P.S. - Did you know we ran a weight management
program that generated over 5K a month like
clockwork and pre-sold at least that much in
supplements for us each month? You can get all the
tools we used at no charge here:

1 Tip For Better Results

I told you the other day - business is simple:

1. Deliver an extraordinary service.

2. Make sure people know about it.

So here's your tip to make sure that happens:

Great programs start with effective assessments.

If you want to deliver an extraordinary service - the assessment
is where you start.

So I've asked 3 of the best in the business - Bill Hartman, Mike
Robertson & Eric Cressey - to share their thoughts on effective
assessments over at the blog.

Check out their post here:

http://fitbusinessinsider.com/are-you-making-your-clients-better-or-just-making-them-tired/

And if you don't have a copy of their Assess & Correct product
- a must have - I've asked them to pass on any affiliate commission
I'd have received for recommending it as a savings for you.

So if you order before March 3rd and use the coupon code ‘RIGSBY’
you’ll get $30 off the normal price - so it'll be $97 instead of $127.

You can learn more about Assess & Correct here:

http://www.AssessandCorrect.com/

Dedicated to your success -

Pat

P.S. - FYI - I'm not passing on the affiliate commission because I'm
ultra-altruistic or anything.  I just want you to know that this is
something I believe very strongly in and am happy to help out by
getting you a discount.

And The Winners Are...

Last week I shared 5 of my favorite business rules or lessons
and asked you to share yours.

We had over 75 quotes, lessons, rules and cliches - and it was
impossible to just choose 3.

So I didn't.

Here are my 6 winners:

Guy Luciani - "Be, Do, Have."

TJ - "Be A Bridge Builder."

James - "Don't keep score."

Rob - "If you stop becoming better, you'll stop being good."

Rob Espisito - "Do your best all the time."

Rick - "You can have everything in life want if you will just
help enough other people get what they want."

- and -

"At 211 degrees water is hot. At 212 degrees water boils. And
boiling water, comes steam. And steam can power a locomotive
train. One extra degree... makes all the difference. And, the one
extra degree of effort in business and life... separates the good
from the great!"

Honestly - I could have chosen 20.

So if you're one of the 6 winners - please email Lee Ann at leeann.fcg@gmail.com
and she'll get you your copy of the Ultimate Fitness Professional's
Business Success System.

Thanks!

Also - be sure to check out the blog tomorrow as I have Eric Cressey,
Bill Hartman and Mike Robertson doing a roundtable about the
importance of assessments.

Finally - I've been asked a number of times over the past couple of
weeks if we're going to open back up the BCBP soon - so next week
we're going to open up enrollment for a couple of days.

If you want to build a 6 figure camp - get ready.

Pat

I Can Make You Successful In Two Sentences

Do you want to own a great business?

Earn a six (or even seven) figure income?

Here are the only two things you need to know:

1. Do an extraordinary job.
2. Make sure a lot of people know about it.

That's it.

Everything I talk about leads back to those two sentences.

Have a great weekend!

Pat

P.S. - Have you given me your favorite business rule, cliche or statement yet?

Leave it over at the blog and if you’re one of the three I pick, I'll give you a copy
of the Ultimate Fitness Professional’s Business Success System.

5 Rules For Business Success

I just posted 5 of my favorite rules for business success over at the blog:

There were several more that I considered adding but then I decided
that I wanted to hear your favorites instead.

So take a minute and post your favorite rule, lesson, quote or cliche and
I'll pick my 3 favorites from those listed and give the winning posters each
a copy of the business product I did with Alwyn Cosgrove: The Ultimate

P.S. - Thanks for all the interest in our upcoming programs and projects.
I got a ton of emails yesterday and the feedback was awesome! Based on
the feedback we are going to do the Bootcamp Bootcamp event in early
June rather than May due to B.J.'s awesome Bootcamp Automator event.

Also - our Low Cost Facility Solution will be like nothing anyone has ever
made available before. I got a ton of questions about it -so just be patient
and we'll keep you posted on what I guarantee will be a game changer.

What’s Coming Up

As you know, we just wrapped up the IYCA Summit this past weekend.

An awesome event.

Like all events, I repeatedly got asked about what was coming up next.

Here's what I told people:

:: We'll be launching a private membership area on http://FitBusinessInsider.com
dedicated to helping fitness pros develop multiple streams of income.

:: We're putting the final details together for the 2nd ever Bootcamp Bootcamp
to be held the weekend of May 21st and 22nd (my B-Day is the 23rd - hope
you can make it) here in Louisville. We'll open up registration soon.

Both of those are included in Bootcamp Blueprint memberships by the way.

:: AJ, Nick and I will be opening up a small Mastermind Group for fitness pros
that want to package their offline success and take it online. No proven track
record offline - we can't help you. We've had so many inquiries about this that
we finally decided to open a small group in late March.

There will be no promo for this - invite only. You can email me to be considered,
because I've seen others open groups and the only qualification be the willingness
to cut a check - and that is not how this (or any of our MM groups) works.

:: We will finally start letting our network learn more about the Athletic Revolution
franchise opportunity soon. I'll keep you posted.

:: We will be opening up an area exclusive coaching program for low cost facilities
in the spring. No details yet other than to say if you own a facility or plan to - you
will love it.

Oh - and I took the advice that BCBP members gave in a survey we did and we're
working on more done-for-you resources to make your life easier ;)

I'm getting tired just thinking about it and those are just the business things... not the
stuff we have going on with the IYCA, Workout Muse, Resistance Band Training,
Sports Speed Etc., Kettlebell Athletics or Corporate Fitness (or any of the other
businesses I'll talk more about some other time...)

So there you have it - that's the next few months.

Or at least some of it.

So mark your calendar for May and drop me a line if any of that other stuff sounds
interesting and I'll get you more details.

Dedicated to your success -

Pat

What would you do?

Back in my younger days when I was coaching baseball I had
my own unique way of responding to losing.

Some coaches would dwell on losses.

Some coaches would run their teams ragged.

Some coaches would even drown their frustration with a few
(or more) beers.

Usually, I'd recruit.

I remember losing a doubleheader to the only team I genuinely
disliked.

I went back to my office and started making recruiting calls at
about 6pm.

I got done around 1am calling kids on the west coast.

I *hated* losing as much as anyone I've ever met.

Anyone.

So I had no patience to dwell on it.

I wanted to fix it - and there was no faster way to fix it than to
get better players.

I only tell you that because I think that stories are important.

You need to know that if we work together that I don't want to
dwell on problems.

I want to find solutions.

I had an old coach that used to say: "I don't want to hear the
labor pains - I just want to see the baby."

Eloquent... maybe not.

Effective... yep.

So there is just a little insight into me.

Do me a favor and tell me your story here:

http://fitbusinessinsider.com/tell-me-your-story/

If you do, I'm going to send you a copy of Mega Marketing For
Fitness Professionals and The Personal Trainer Business Action Plan
for taking the time to share.

Almost $100 in products for helping me get to know you a little better.

Head over to the blog and tell me your story now:

http://fitbusinessinsider.com/tell-me-your-story/

Dedicated to your success -

Pat

P.S. - I'll soon be taking all my digital products off the market.  No final sale or anything.

I just feel like using these tools differently - kind of like I'm using them here.

A Gift From Me To You, Aff

We just wrapped up an incredible IYCA Summit this weekend.

Unfortunately, we had about 50 people registered that couldn't
get in due to weather, but that did give me a chance to spend a
bit more time with a lot of the attendees.

And I heard some incredible stories.

How they got in the industry.

What they overcame to achieve success.

What they were motivated to achieve.

So I heard some of their stories.

Now I want to hear yours.

So head on over to the blog and tell me your story:

http://fitbusinessinsider.com/tell-me-your-story/

And because I value your time, if you take the time to share
your story I will be sending you a gift to say thanks.

I look forward to learning more about you!

Dedicated to your success -

Pat

P.S. - We did something new at the IYCA Summit and did a live
broadcast of several of the sessions and made all the special
offers that attendees received available online.

If you're interested in youth training, sports performance, bands
or speed development - those offers will still be up until 9 pm EST
tonight.  You can check them out here:

Watch Us Live!

We're here at the Brown Hotel (I'm sitting at the registration table typing
this) and we've just started the 2nd Annual IYCA Summit.

The one and only Lee Taft is on stage and the audience is captivated.

I'll take the stage talking about the missed opportunities in youth fitness
business at 1pm EST.

We've had people come all the way from the UK.

Others drove all the way to Louisville from New York when their flights
were canceled.

I realize that not everyone could make it so we decided to do the next best
thing - stream some of the presentations live on UStream.

If you want to see my talk at 1pm or any of the other presentations that
we're streaming, you can watch them here:

http://www.ustream.tv/channel/iyca-feb-12

Our speakers also decided to do something pretty cool and make all their
special offers available online to the UStream viewers so I'll send that page
out to you tomorrow.

Have a great weekend and be sure to check out the 'show.'

Aff, Let Me Build Your List For You... For FREE!

Hello Aff,

I'm sure you've heard of the saying "The Money is in The List"

Well how would you like to have thousands of other people building
your list for you?

I know what your thinking "this sounds impossible"... until NOW!

I want to GIVE you a FREE website that will also get other people
to build your list for you! It's a VERY powerful concept - go
watch this quick video to see how it works:

==> http://www.plrnicheclub.com/recommends/listbuilder

Thanks again
Craig Michaels

P.S. - I've never seen a listbuilding tool this viral before. I
still can't believe he isn't charging anything for it.

It's a Team Effort

I just read the latest issue of PFP magazine and in this issue I saw:

:: A great article on Kettlebell Training from Pam MacElree

:: A great column on taking care of your business (and yourself)
   from Greg Justice

:: A product profile on Workout Muse - brainchild of B.J. Gaddour

:: An article on youth fitness from Brian Grasso and myself

Pretty cool considering all of these people are members of our initial
Mastermind Group.

I'll guarantee you that this is not a coincidence.

We all work diligently to help each other move to the next level.

The success of that first group led us to start a second group.

They're killing it too.

So before long we'll be adding two smaller niche specific groups to
help other fitness pros harness the power of a team.

I can't say if any of our groups are a great fit for you personally as
they are significant investments and a couple of them are going to
be very targeted on certain areas - but you need to be part of some
group.

That's for certain.

Masterminding is too powerful a tool to miss out on.

You're welcome to drop me a line if you want to regarding ours - or
you can find a few like minded fitness entrepreneurs and set up your
own.

It will be one of the most impactful things you can do - guaranteed.

Dedicated to your success -

Pat

Here are your answers, Aff

Over the last couple of blog posts we've been discussing the problems the
fitness industry has.

With every problem comes an opportunity.

So I've put together the opportunities that I see are ripe for the taking here:

http://fitbusinessinsider.com/fitness-industry-problems-an-opportunity-for-you/

If you think of any I missed - or plan on taking advantage of any of the ones
I listed, be sure to leave me a comment and let me know.

A Lesson From The Bahamas

If you‘ve ever been to the Bahamas you've undoubtedly noticed
how aggressive they are when it comes to selling.

From the guys outside of restaurants doing everything they could
to get us to come in and dine there to the folks on the beach selling
everything from cigars to souvenirs - they all aggressively ask for
the sale.

Again and again.

They made offers, shared all the benefits they could dream up,
discounted - anything they could do to get a sale.

My guess is that over the course of the day they generate their
share of customers.

While I don't advocate you mimicking their approach (it's a bit
extreme) - I do think that you're missing out on a lot of mon.ey
if you don't recognize that nothing begins until you sell something.

You can't help someone achieve their goals until they become
a client.

Every time you meet with someone that you feel like you can
help - step up and ask for the sale.

Building rapport, displaying value, overcoming potential
objections - all good stuff.

But you have to ask for the sale.

Be committed to asking at least 3 people per week for a sale and
watch how quickly your business grows.

Dedicated to your success -

Pat

P.S. - The reason most people don't ask for the sale is *fear* of
rejection. Ignore it. I bet I turned down 30 offers in the Bahamas
in 4 days and I'll guarantee not one of those folks lost one minute
of sleep over it.

P.P.S. - You leave a comment over at the blog telling me your
opinion on my post yet?

Back in the Saddle

OK - I'm back in Louisville prepping for next week's IYCA Summit.

As much as I loved the Bahamas - being back is fine since I get to
see so many of my fitness friends next week.

Aside from getting ready for the Summit, I'm writing my follow up to
my "What's Wrong With The Fitness Industry?" post that so many of
you commented on over at www.FitBusinessInsider.com .

In the mean tim, if you haven'' checked out my buddy Curtis Mock's
TV show, he's got another great episode up at:

Curtis is a member of our Mastermind Group and one of the sharpest

Hes pretty darn entertaining too ;)

Finally - after spending a week with some really successful fitness pros
in the Bahamas and seeing how well they do integrating Prograde into
their business, I'm more convinced than ever that you are missing the
boat if you're not doing the same.

In the coming weeks I'll teach you step-by-step how to boost your
revenue doing just that.

Have a great weekend!

Pat

P.S. - I'll probably email you tomorrow with the new blog post so stay tuned!

Is It Just You?

Today I'm getting back from the Bahamas.

Been gone since early Monday.

But you know what?  The show has gone on
just fine without me.

Our health club has kept selling plenty of
memberships.

Our various other businesses have all been making
mo.ney, serving clients or members and moving
forward on projects.

Four days away and not a dip in income.

Let me tell you - it's not always been that way.

A few years back there was no way Nick and I could
leave at the same time and our bank account not
take a serious hit.

But we added team members and gave them the
systems and tools to keep things moving forward.

If you want to be able to do the same, check out
what B.J.'s put together with Bootcamp Automator.

http://www.BootcampAutomator.com/

It's the world's first system that will allow you to
delegate your camps without compromising their
quality.

Whether you want to just be able to take a day off
here and there without watching your camps fall
apart or you want to bring on other trainers to run
more locations or times - Bootcamp Automator is
your solution.

See what I mean here:

Have you told me yet?

The other day I told you about my blog post on what's
wrong with the fitness industry.

Well, I'm biased, but I feel like you're 'what's right' with
the industry - so take a minute and tell me where most
of the industry is failing.

Your opinion matters - and in case you didn't know, a lot
of people will see what you have to say.

In fact, Men's Health linked to the blog the other day - so
if you have an opinion, here's your chance to be heard.

P.S. - Have you become one of the charter members of
Bootcamp Automator yet?  If not, don't miss your chance:

The Key To More Clients (Finally)

If you want to get more clients each of these work:

:: Networking

:: Public Speaking

:: Direct mail

:: Pay Per Click Ads

:: Craigslist

I could go on and on with marketing strategies that will bring you in
more business.

But nothing beats having a remarkable service that inspires referrals.

I've shared my love for Disney World a few times - and that's part of
their plan.

They deliver a great experience and in turn they create ambassadors
for their business.

You should do the same.

Do me a favor and make sure you're on B.J.'s Bootcamp Automator
webinar tonight - he'll be sharing some stuff that I guarantee will help
you make your clients ambassadors for what you do.

What's the Problem?

The fitness industry has problems.

No secret there.

Tons of struggling businesses, poor penetration rates and a failure
to deliver results are just a few.

The status quo just isn't working and I want to know why you think
that is.

Head over to the blog and tell me what you think.
