It's Coming

2010 is right around the corner.
We're just a couple of days away.
What does the New Year hold for you?

For Nick, me and our other business partners it
holds a variety of things:

:: Dozens of new Athletic Revolution locations
:: More solutions to help trainers and coaches reach their
professional goals
:: Several live events

We're going to help hundreds... more like thousands of
fitness professionals grow their businesses, help more people
and move closer to achieving their dreams.

I put all this out there to you because I want you to do the
same to me.

Reply and tell me what you're going to make happen in 2010.

Accountability is a key to success - and I'll hold you accountable
if you let me.

Take a few minutes and send me an email to share what you
have in store for the new year.

I'll read it once I get home from Disney, keep it on file and keep
my eyes open for ways to help you reach your goals faster - if
you drop me that email.

I'll be on the lookout for your message  ;)

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

P.S. - You'll get a vacation reply when you send it over since
I'm away from the office.  But I'll get to reading all the responses
I receive on Thursday after we return.

Quick Tip

The UPS guy just showed up with my weekly supply of

new book. You can grab it here:

I also did a quick tip on relationship marketing over

It's a strategy that helps me and I think it will

Time to dig into my new books!

Dying a slow death

Over the weekend Tyler, Holly and I went to my
hometown of Portsmouth, Ohio.

Portsmouth is an interesting place. Back in the
1920's and 30's it was a thriving industrial town.

There was even an NFL team that eventually
moved to Detroit and became the Lions.

At one point Portsmouth had about 70,000 people.

Today there are 20,000.

Just as in everything, things changed.

The industries that fueled the town's growth
started to die off.

Many of the good jobs were no longer available.

And the city didn't adapt.

See, a few people in the town had generated
significant wealth and stonewalled any new business
from coming into Portsmouth.

They were rich and had no interest in new competition.

While that might have worked out ok for the successful
few – a city is dying a slow death because of it.

So many businesses succumb to that same fate.

They get married to one way of doing things and when
that way stops working as well as it once did – they
aren't willing to adapt.

And everyone else passes them by.

Things change and you're either growing or dying.

Which do you choose?

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – There are 2 great resources that I recently picked
up and I suggest that you do to in order to help you
make the most of the January rush:

Coach Dos' new book – great stuff to improve your
group training:

http://tinyurl.com/ychu4td

And Assess & Correct by Bill Hartman, Mike Robertson
and Eric Cressey:

http://www.assessandcorrect.com/

I actually have that in my DVD player right now and it's
a must have to maximize your clients' results.

No affiliate links or anything – just two items that I
*know* will make your business better.

Do you believe?

With Christmas right around the corner, all
of us with young children around the house
get to enjoy the magic of belief that kids have.

Kids believe until you convince them otherwise.

I think they're smarter than most of us.

Over the past week I've had a Mastermind group
and a group of Bootcamp Blueprint members in
town.

If I were to identify the 2 things that separate the
most successful from the least (and most of the
guests are among the most successful in the
industry), it's action – which I talk about all the time,
and belief.

The successful people spend their time figuring
out why and how things *will* work while the
others complain why they won't.

Which group do you fall into?

One attendee came all the way from the UK and
he did a couple of things that most people would
never think of doing – or at least never have the
guts to actually go through with:

- He got a few of his clients to pre-pay for
two years' worth of training to fund the
start up of his new facility.

No partners, no bank loans, no investors
to pay back.

- He basically raffled off a year of training to
his clients. They each bought a chance to
win one 'fr.ee' year of training. He made
about 2x as much (pre-paid) for the year
of training than if he'd have just sold a
year package.

Sure – he's an ultra bright guy to think these up, but
more importantly – he didn't waste any time coming
up with reasons not to try these ideas out.

I know there are a few things that you've thought
about trying.

Just do it.

Believe in yourself and make things happen.

You'll be glad you did.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – We're going to accept 5 more people into
Bootcamp Blueprint leading up to 2010. If you want
to be considered, reply to this email…but act fast.

These 5 spots won't last.

Something New

I had a great live coaching session with some BCBP
members yesterday and will share some cool takeaways
with you...tomorrow.

Today I want to suggest you spend a few minutes
checking out my good friend Curtis Mock's new TV
show:

http://fitbiz.tv/

It's focused at club owners and studio owners mainly,
but I think anyone in the industry needs to check
it out.

So watch Curtis today and I'll be back with some
great stuff of my own for you tomorrow.

A Lesson From Disney

Holly, Tyler and I are heading off to Disney World
the day after Christmas for a brief vacation to cap
off a wonderful 2009 and 'relax' a bit before 2010.

Well imagine my surprise when I received an email
from Disney today saying that our resort accommodations
had been upgraded at no charge.

I called to follow up. It was true. We'd been upgraded at
no additional cost.

I decided to see what the difference was between the
vacation package we'd booked and the one we'd been
upgraded to – I checked on their website…

…about $1800.

I already felt pretty strongly about Disney. I've read
about 10 books on their business practices and on
Walt Disney.

As you can imagine, I feel even more strongly now;)

So how can you apply this type of thing to your business?

I'd say that you should simply give a little extra whenever
you can.

I'm sure it doesn't cost Disney $1800 to upgrade us, but
the goodwill it generated will easily payoff with us
continuing to vacation there over all the other options.

So think of ways to can overdeliver.

Give whenever you can.

It certainly has worked out ok for Disney.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. - Are you coming? I hope so…

Do you have them?

At the close of our Mastermind Meeting on Friday
each member identified some goals they are going
to achieve – not hope to achieve – before our next
meeting.

Do you set specific, measurable goals that *must*
be achieved by a defined date?

You should.

One of the goals they all set was to each have 100
new leads for their businesses in January.

I'll keep you posted on how they do, but I can already
tell you now – they'll get there.

100 new leads…what's that worth to a business?

25, 50, 100 grand?

Maybe more.

I strongly suggest you follow their lead and set some
specific goals – and a deadline for achieving them.

There's no better way to achieve success.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

What will you do?

First off – BJ Gaddour just made a great post over
at the blog on what to get your clients for the holidays.

Check it out:

http://patnickandjim.com

Back when I coached at a state university, it was
pretty standard for employees to get a 3% pay
increase yearly.

Keep your job for another year, get a small raise.

While I know some universities have put a freeze
on this yearly standard pay increase lately as their
budgets have been cut – honestly, I always thought
it was kinda dumb.

I guess that's why I was cut out to be an entrepreneur.

Simply doing enough not to get fired merits a raise?

Really?

No wonder so many state and university budgets are
in the red.

If you want a raise – a lot more than 3% - you need to
do some planning and some work, but the sky is the limit.

I expect our businesses to double their revenues in 2010.

That's not a dream – we doubled revenues in 2009.

And 2008.

But it's come with specific goals, specific plans and
the work and education necessary to achieve them.

We couldn't simply show up for another year.

And neither can you.

If you want 2010 to be the year you grow your business
by 25%, 50%, 100% or even 200% - it's completely possible
if you're willing to make it happen.

That may mean stepping out of your comfort zone, investing
more in your education, working on your business more and
doing things differently than you've ever done before…

…but it beats the heck out of settling for 3%.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

Know this for success in 2010

Are you like Jarrod?

Last Friday one of Nick and my former employees
came by for some sales training.

Jarrod is now one of the top personal training sellers
for a health club chain that has about 40 locations
and sells about 20 mil.lion in training a year.

But he spent his day off investing in sales training.

Basically that was his version of 'working on his
business' so he's better at 'working in his business.'

Are you working on your business?

I know you're working in it.

A few hours working on your business will make you
time working in your business a lot more valuable.

For Jarrod – us working on increasing his closing
percentage a few points or his average deal size
by 10-15% could mean 15-20K per year in additional
income.

Not a bad return for a few hours on a Friday, huh?

Do yourself a favor and spend at least a few hours
a week working on your business so you can reap the
rewards the rest of the time.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – I've considered it for a long time, but spending a few
hours doing sales training with Jarrod finally convinced
me to create a sales resource for trainers in 2010.

I'll keep you posted…

A rule to remember

Yesterday I was talking with a member of one
of our coaching programs and shared what I felt
was something you should hear too:

You will always be faced with situations that aren't
exactly what you want.

Doesn't matter if it's a business opportunity, a personal
relationship or something else.

Perfect situations rarely arise.

So you're basically left with 3 options:

1. Move on. Not every opportunity, relationship or
situation is a good fit.

2. Bitch about it. The worst option, but what most
people choose.

3. Find a way to derive what you're looking for
from the situation.

If you choose option 3 – my personal favorite, you
have to be willing to adapt a bit – but the long-term
benefits far outweigh the other options.

But let me toss in a quick disclaimer before I go –
number one isn't a bad option either sometimes.

Life's too short to be in situations that you don't like
for too long, and there are far more opportunities
out there than most realize.

I'm not sure if this helped him any or if it helps you…

…but I know it helps me so I thought I'd share.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. - Are you a Prograde pro? You should be because
they are making it super easy to help you add an

Are You Getting Enough?

Are you getting enough leads to build the business
you want?

If you want to have a multiple 6 figure business, that
means plenty of clients.

You need 42 bootcampers paying you $199 per month
for 100K per year.

63 for 150K.

84 for 200K.

To get there you have to have a steady flow of leads.

How many leads are you getting each week?

A safe rule of thumb is 4 for every camper or client
you want to have.

If you have 4 leads, conservatively – 2 will show for
a fr.ee trial.

Of those, conservatively, 1 will buy.

You can improve these conversion rates by pre-qualifying,
generating more referrals that are pre-sold and by
becoming a better sales person – but no matter what,
you still need leads to grow your business.

So, in short, if you want more business, you need more
leads. If you're not generating some on almost a daily
basis then you're probably going to fall short of your
business goals.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – If you haven't heard, Prograde has developed a new
IYCA Approved Kids Multi-Vitamin. If you train young
athletes, this is big news.

If you're not already a Prograde Pro (why not?), enroll
now – it's fr.ee – so you can share this great new product
with your athletes. You can enroll here:

A Clue For You

Do you realize how many opportunities there are for
you move closer to reaching all your goals?

Clues for success are all around. See what I mean here:

http://patnickandjim.com/who-are-you-learning-from

Get ready for a great week!

Pat

P.S. – My man Jim Labadie is letting all of his products
go for 47% off. I bought them all at full price and they'd
have been bargains if I'd had paid 20 times more than I did.

http://trainandgrowrich.com/ftc_sale.htm

His sale ends at noon – sorry I didn't tell you before,
but I didn't pay attention since I already own them all;)

BTW - The Ultimate Sales Kit and Publicity Kit are my
two faves.

What’s the Cost?

When it comes to cost, two things should never be
viewed at face value:

1. Education
2. Clients

Education isn't a cost…it's an investment. If you
invest $20 in a book, $200 in a product or $2000 in
a coaching program or seminar – what matters is
the return on that investment.

I've read $15 books that I know are responsible for
100K in new business revenues.

A pretty good return.

You should always invest in your education…invest
in yourself. It will provide a better payoff than any stock.

For clients, the cost of acquiring a new client only matters
relative to the lifetime value of that client.

Did you know that WalMart sells bestselling books at a
loss?

They do it knowing that people who buy books are typically
high value customers – so losing a few dol.lars on a single
item will be recouped several times over on other items.

If you're clients spend $2000 with you on average – isn't
it worth $200 to get a new one?

So focus on what your education and your clients are
worth – not what they cost.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

2 For You

Hey aff - I just got back from watching
Planet 51 with Holly, Tyler, Doug - a close friend
and former asst coach - and Doug's nephew Noah.

Fun stuff - but before we get into the Holiday's
full swing I wanted to ask you to head over to
the blog:

http://www.PatNickandJim.com

Late yesterday I posted a video answering more of
your questions and today I made a post sharing
a bit of what I'm thankful for.

I hope you'll head over to the blog and share
some of what you're thankful for too.

No emails or new posts from me tomorrow - so
if you're in the U.S. - have a Happy Thanksgiving!

If you're not in the U.S. - have a Happy Thursday
and I'll be back in touch Friday!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving (or Thursday)!

Where’s your bottleneck?

Yesterday I had a coaching client in town for a
full day session and one of the things we looked at
was the 'flowchart' of a business. Here's a look:

1. Lead generation
2. Sales process
3. Immediate upsell
4. Service delivery
5. Retention – outside of programming
6. Back end sales
7. Referral generation

You should break what you do into these 7 components
and look for the bottlenecks that are keeping your
business from reaching it's potential.

If you're not generating enough leads…you know
that this should be your area of focus.

If you're not closing those leads…there is your
focal point.

Honestly, most fitness pros think that their problems
lie only in lead generation – but often the issues can
be found elsewhere.

With that in mind – I have two resources for you.

If you need help in the lead generation, sales, retention
or referral components – you need to check out my
buddy Curtis Mock's new Web TV show:

http://www.fitbiz.tv/

We're going to start having Curtis as a regular contributor
on our blog as he's one of the sharpest guys in the fitness
industry. You're gonna love his show.

Second – until tomorrow you can get 3 killer Workout Muse
tracks for just $33.

http://www.workoutmuse.com/sale

By now you're hopefully using Workout Muse, but if you
need another endorsement to convince you how awesome
it is – how about this…yesterday we found out that the
Workout Muse I-Phone app had climbed to #3 out of the
thousands of fitness apps on the market.

Pretty cool, huh?

So plug your business into this flowchart and identify
where your bottlenecks are.

Then fix them. These resources will certainly help;)

T.E.A.M.

On my desk sits this phrase:

Together

Everyone

Achieves

More

It's true – I promise.

But all too often business owners leave
themselves on an island and don't use the
power of a team.

We've created programs like the Bootcamp
Blueprint to help fitness pros benefit from
the power of a team.

We hold events like the IYCA Summit and Fast
Track for that same reason.

When we created our youth fitness franchise
it was so people around the globe that wanted to
have a successful youth fitness & athletic development
business could be part of a team and achieve even
greater success.

I know that everything I've ever accomplished is
largely due to my team of family, friends, colleagues,
staff and business partners.

Honestly – business is too tough to go it alone…especially
when you don't have to.

So take advantage of events like the Summit or Fast
Track.

Join a Mastermind Group.

Achieve more by being part of a team.

By the way – if you want to have a shot to win fr.ee
tickets to the IYCA Summit, be sure to post here:

http://iyca.org/wordpress/

And please consider me part of your team. So if you
haven't already friended me on Facebook – be sure to:

http://www.facebook.com/patrigsby

I plan on getting the hang of LinkedIn sometime
too in case that's your preferred network…but
bear with me as I figure that one out.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – I wanted to apologize for a misspelling in the
subject line yesterday. I was in a rush to spend some

spell check. Hopefully you still checked out Jim's

Be, Do, Have

If you want a successful fitness business,
it doesn't magically appear by throwing
up a website, opening a studio or proclaiming
yourself (your town)'s fitness guru.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

Heck, it doesn't even start with getting more
clients, training more sessions or marketing
like crazy.

Nope.

If you want a successful fitness business, it
starts with being.

Being more knowledgeable about training.

Being more knowledgeable about business.

Being someone who's willing to start early
and work late.

Being the type of person that people want to
do business with.

So 'be' prepared to do the things necessary to
be successful.

'Do' those things.

Then you'll be in a position to 'have' the business
you've always wanted.

Dedicated to your success –

Here’s #15

Over at the blog I just posted 14 thoughts
about launching a successful fitness business.

http://www.PatNickandJim.com

I know you'll like them.

Here's one more to add:

#15 – Be a good person and treat others like
you want to be treated.

Let me give you an example:

The owners of a business Nick and I used to
lease space from just had another business
they owned go under.

Honestly, not a surprise as they *never* try to
create a win / win for anyone who interacts
with them.

And almost no one can get by doing business
that way for long.

So remember, your goal as a business owner
is to get what you want out of each transaction,
each relationship and each interaction – while also
helping the person on the other end get what they
want…and hopefully more.

Do that and you'll go far.

Have a great weekend!

What do they know that you don’t?

By now you've heard me talk about my wife
Holly.

She's built an online empire around moms
because while most people have customers that
purchase and move on – she creates Raving Fans.

And it's because she connects with them.

She's not just delivering workouts or a nutrition
plan. She makes women feel like they belong.

Since most of the personal training and bootcamp
clients out there are women – you need to do the
same. Head on over to the blog and learn how.

http://www.PatNickandJim.com

Rachel Cosgrove has done the same thing offline
at the Cosgrove's gym – Results Fitness. She's
delivered results and an experience that turns
women into Raving Fans.

And since Results Fitness is probably the most
profitable gym per sq. ft. in the country, you might
want to see what she has to say;)

Do You Have One?

To be successful you need a competitive advantage.

I'm not suggesting that you need to be the best in the world at something.

Just better than your direct competitors.

Lee Taft teaches speed better than his competitors.

Holly speaks directly to moms better than her competitors.

Steve Krebs creates a sense of community in his bootcamps better than his competitors .

Donovan Owens networks better than his.

Nick Berry and Jim Labadie are better looking than their competitors.

(Just kidding – just wanted to see if you were paying attention.)

So what can you do to separate yourself from your competitors?

Are you a better speaker?

Better writer?

Do you get better results with a certain target market?

Are you better at getting referrals?

Figure out what you're better at and make that the core of
your business strategy.

Do that and your business will take a quantum leap.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – If you train combat athletes or want to create a
hardcore atmosphere in your training sessions, Workout
Muse just developed a system to help give you a
competitive advantage.

7 Steps To Better Networking

How do you network and build relationships
effectively?

First: Really be a QUALITY person.

What's that mean?

Be genuine. Continue to educate yourself. Treat
others like you want to be treated.

Second: Be interested in people. Ask questions. Get
them talking about themselves. Remember the details
that they find important.

Third: Listen. Shut up;) Let people talk about themselves.

Fourth: Add value to others lives. Make sure that they're
better off by knowing you. Figure out what the other
person values and what they are really passionate about.

Whenever you can – add value there.

Fifth. Find out who can add value to your life. Better to
meet 1-2 great contacts than collect 30 business cards but
foster no real relationships.

Sixth: Give without expectation of a payback.

Go above and beyond with those whom you decide to network.

If you give without immediate expectation of payback your
contributions will be perceived as sincere – because they
are sincere.

Seventh. Follow-up. When you meet someone new – drop them
a note. Doesn't have to be anything fancy – just nice meeting
you or thank you for your contribution, etc.

Make notes about their interests and needs. When you come
across an article, book, or contact that might be valuable then
send it or call them with this information or contact.

Being an effective networker can transform your career – and
your life if you're willing to become great at it.

By the way - If you're looking for the best opportunity in
the world to network with youth fitness & athletic development
professionals, the IYCA Summit is it.

Today is the first day of Early Bird Registration - learn
all about it here:

A.S.L.T.W.

A.S.L.T.W.

Actions speak louder than words.

"Who you are speaks so loudly I can't hear what
you're saying."

– Ralph Waldo Emerson

I'm a big believer in the power of words.

I write a newsletter to you every day as proof;)

But when words aren't backed by corresponding
actions, talk is cheap.

Have you ever felt that what a business promised you
in their marketing was nothing like what they actually
delivered?

Me too.

There is a list of businesses that I will never buy from
again.

Was it their marketing that turned me away forever?

Of course not.

It was their actions.

One dumb decision can undo all the marketing you've ever done.

Is what you're delivering even better than what you're advertising?

It should be.

I don't care what your website says.

I don't care how you've branded yourself.

I don't care how great your ads are.

I only care about what actually happens once I'm in your
doors.

Screw that up and no marketing will ever fix it.

So yes – marketing will get someone to give your business
a chance.

Your actions will determine what comes of it.

Out of the box

Do you only do what everyone else does when
it comes to business?

I don't.

A few weeks back I came across a company that
only promotes offline businesses and emailed them
with the idea to promote Holly's online offerings.

I didn't hear anything until yesterday, but then I
received a call and we're discussing a possible
JV that could pay off big.

Really big.

I've gotten the same people that go door to door selling
cleaning products to sell memberships to our health club
just to see if it would work – and because no one else
does it.

It does work, by the way.

Heck – I've even created healthy fundraisers around
groups selling fitness memberships.

Not every creative idea I have is a winner.

Far from it.

But in baseball they say 'you can't steal second base
and keep your foot on first.'

You gotta take a few risks and see what happens.

So try some new things that no one else in your market
offers.

Maybe a results guarantee.

Or better yet –a double your mon.ey back results
guarantee.

Maybe a new marketing strategy.

Dare to be different.

Who knows, you may hit on a winner that totally
transforms your business.

But you'll never know if you don't try.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. - Have you been over to the blog lately?

51 is the answer

If you want to build a 10K per month bootcamp
you need 51 campers paying you $199 per month.

That all.

51 Campers.

We've helped Jeff & Tiffany Larson get their camps up
to 217 campers.

Ben Warstler to 195 campers in a town of about 3000 people.

Steve Krebs to 160 campers.

Tyler English to 152.

I'm pretty darn sure we can get you to 51 if you
follow our Blueprint for success.

But I'll warn you – you've got to be willing to do
the work.

There's no such thing as a fr.ee lunch.

Run like he!1 from anyone who tells you otherwise.

But *if* you're willing to do the work, we have a proven
formula that's built camps all around the globe.

A variation of the formula that helped Nick & I build
a training business to over 400 clients in a small town
in Kentucky.

So you don't have to worry about asking 'will it work
in my town?'

If it can work here – or in Ben's tiny town in Vermont, it
will work anywhere.

So you need to ask yourself:

"Do I have what it takes to get 51 campers if I'm given a
proven Blueprint for success?"

If the answer is 'Yes', then you have until 3pm today to
grab your Blueprint for a 10K per Month Bootcamp here:

http://www.thebootcampblueprint.com

The Bootcamp Blueprint is a lot more than that…it's all the
business systems and tools you'll ever need to run your
camp.

But don't forget – you need 51 campers and – if you're
willing to do the work - the Blueprint is *guaranteed*
to get you there.

http://www.thebootcampblueprint.com

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – 3 p.m. EST – that's your deadline if you want
to ensure 2010 is the year you get to 10K per month.

3 Things You Need

We're in the middle of franchise training this
week for our newest Athletic Revolution
franchisees going over the foundation of
running their AR location.

While I can't share the details of what we
cover – as it's proprietary and exclusive to
AR frachisees – I can share the key components
that go into any successful fitness business.

To build a successful business, you need:

1. A training system. If you don't have a training
system you're not going to be able to build and
maintain a successful business.

Ever wonder why no one else talks about that?

I do.

Kinda like telling someone to market the heck out
of a restaurant – but who cares if the food sucks.

2. You need operational systems. No operational
systems mean that you'd better plan on running
your camp or facility until you're 80.

No vacations, no sick days – no expansion.

If you want to ever grow beyond trading time
for dol.lars – operational systems are a must.

3. Marketing & Sales Systems. This is the one that
gets the most attention from everyone else, but
without the other two – it can't create a successful
business.

But if you have the foundation of the other two
in place – the right marketing and sales systems
are what propel you to a 6 or 7 figure business.

The reason you've not seen tons of marketing for
Athletic Revolution yet is that we are committed
to making sure that #1 and #2 are just as ready to
handle 70 or 700 franchisees as they are 7.

Honestly, most people don't do things that way.

Lots of sizzle – not so much steak.

Heck, we had to fire some 'advisors' of ours
because they were entirely focused on #3.

To heck with #1 and #2.

But I *promise* you…if you slight training and
operations you'll be looking for the next fad
or new get ri.ch scheme before long and the
trainers that mastered the 'trifecta' will be
thriving.

By the way – you have about a day left to
Secure your spot in the Bootcamp Blueprint
before it closes until 2010.

All the systems you'll need to build a 6 figure
camp – in one spot.

Don't miss out:

http://thebootcampblueprint.com/

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – Ever wonder why so many of the franchised
studios and sports performance facilities close?

All sizzle – no steak.

Their loss is your gain – if you're ready:

Sorry

I wanted to say that I'm sorry if you have already been
locked out of your area for the Bootcamp Blueprint.

About 100 of our Members have upgraded their
Memberships to keep competitors from using this
powerful resource.

People like Tyler English with 152 campers.

Like Steve Krebs with 160 campers.

Like Ben Warstler with 195 campers.

They, like about 100 others, have locked up their areas.

So if you are in their towns, I apologize.

But if want to have access to the same marketing, sales
and business operations systems that have helped them
build camps that generate over 20K per month, then
you need to join the BCBP before Friday.

http://www.thebootcampblueprint.com/

Review the 3 options and see which is the best fit for
helping you build a 10K or more per month camp.

But remember, the doors close on Friday at 3pm.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – When you register for one of the 3 options, we'll
reply to you promptly and let you know if your area has
already been 'locked.'

But don't wait – I got 3 more emails from current members
today asking to lock their areas because they knew we were
launching. There will be more tomorrow. They know how
powerful the Blueprint is...

“I was robbed”

It came to my attention on Friday that some lady named
Tracey Rodriguez was passing herself off as a bootcamp
business expert by basically stealing some material that
I've created, removing my name, the product name and
the copyright – then giving it away as her own.

After notifying her that this was a felony – therefore she
was a criminal that I was going to pursue with legal action
– apparently she's taken my info down as her opt in gift.

Normally I wouldn't mention something like this to you
as it's not the first time it's happened.

But the reason I'm telling you now is this:

The fitness bootcamp landscape has changed in the past
12-18 months.

There are over 2000 camps out there – all fighting for
campers – just like you.

Because of this surge in the number of camps out there –
and the 1000 more that will pop up in 2010, scam artists
like this Tracey lady are popping up trying to market
themselves as the solution to help you beat the competition.

Don't fall for this crap.

Over the next week, I'm going to give you a number of
strategies that I promise you will grow your bootcamp…fr.ee
of charge.

Stuff that's been proven time and time again in the businesses
that we've owned and with our Bootcamp Blueprint members.

In addition to that – we're going to open up the Bootcamp
Blueprint for 72 hours to accept new members.

Proven tips. Proven strategies. Proven systems.

A proven program that produces 5-figure a month camps.

So be sure to watch your inbox for emails this week and
check the blog over at www.PatNickandJim.com.

Tons of great bootcamp building info coming your way
all week long!

Have a great week!

Success Made Simple

You want to have an extraordinary career?

Make six-figures or more?

Love what you do?

OK – then I have a simple formula that I'm
certain with get you there:

Step 1: Identify what you love doing.

Are you passionate about working with baseball
players, basketball players or volleyball players?

Do you love helping people lose weight?

Whatever it is that you're passionate about – start
there.

Step 2: Become an expert.

Study what it is that you're passionate about. Read,
listen to audios, watch videos, go to seminars and
do internships. Seek out knowledge & experience.

Step 3: Spread the word.

Let as many people as you can know what you do.
Offline and online. Talk to people. Write. Speak.

Give away sessions, info, you name it.

Share value.

Step 4: Hustle.

I've never met any great success that just worked
9-5. Put in the time. Do more than most will do.

That's it. Success made simple. Follow that formula
and you'll be on your way.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

P.S. – If you train athletes…no , scratch that…if you
train anyone, Mike Boyle is about as good a resource
as you'll find to help you with step #2.

This is nothing but B.S.

Yesterday I got to read a comment from the
founder of a small certification organization
where he suggested that when it came to
youth fitness, you couldn't control what kids
ate or when they went to bed.

Are you freaking kidding me?

It's called parenting.

Let's pray he doesn't have kids.

But that really is kinda what failure stems from
in a nutshell.

People don't want to take responsibility.

They pass the buck.

Instead of stepping up and doing what it takes
to achieve something – most people choose
to instead make excuses or take the path of
least resistance.

Success isn't rocket science.

If you read the blog over at www.PatNickandJim.com
you'll see that Donovan Owens is a huge success.

He's upped his income to almost 20K per month
and his wife has already retired (she's 30)…and
it's because he took responsibility for making
his goals a reality.

He had plenty of excuses at his disposal.

He has a family so…

…He's too busy.

…He couldn't give up his steady job and take
the risk.

But Donovan doesn't have time for excuses.

He's too busy being successful.

So make sure that if you want something,
you're willing to step up and take responsibility.

Take action.

I don't care if it's raising healthy kids by taking
responsibility for what they eat (I have an 8yr old
and as opposed to what this guy was implying,
8yr olds don't do the grocery shopping)

or

If it's growing your business by taking responsibility
for getting better as a trainer or as a business
person.

Do yourself a favor – ignore B.S. like that and
do what it takes to achieve your dreams.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – If you haven't read Donovan's business tips
and his awesome story – check it out:

They all miss this

There are a number of people giving advice on
how to grow your personal training business,
health club or fitness bootcamp.

A handful of people serving only the trainer market
another dozen serving health clubs.

They all talk about direct mail, internet marketing,
referral programs and a few other things.

All very important – and I talk about that stuff too.

But the thing I *never* hear them talk about is how
important getting results for your clients is to your
business success.

You may be able to get clients – for a little while – if
you don't focus on delivering results.

But what no one tells you is that focusing only on
marketing and sales and ignoring being a great
trainer or coach is a recipe for disaster.

You want to know why the health club industry is
struggling?

Because they focus only on chasing new members.

They don't give a darn about the people already paying
them.

So you need to do two things to be successful:

1. Learn how to attract clients

2. Learn how to get clients the results they want

I talk to you every day about number one.
Don't ignore number two.

And if you want to earn a graduate level education in how
to be a better trainer or coach…how to deliver results every
time…check out Mike Boyle's new resource here:

http://tinyurl.com/ygx6q43

There is no one in the industry I respect more than Mike
and no one better to help you become a more effective
trainer or coach.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – Think about how disappointed you feel when you see
a great ad for a restaurant or an awesome preview for an
upcoming movie – then your experience with the service,
food or movie sucks.

Don't ever make your clients feel that way.

What I learned at the farm

We took Tyler to a local pumpkin patch Sunday.

Well, not just a pumpkin patch.

A place called Huber's Farm.

The Huber family is pretty smart.

Back in the 60's they placed an ad in the paper
and invited people to come pick their own beans
when they had too many beans for their family to
pick themselves.

They were floored when a bunch of 'city folks' came
out, excited to do the stuff they thought of as 'work.'

People would come, pick fruits and vegetables and
pay the family for what they took home.

The Hubers added a restaurant, a store and now have
everything from pumpkin patches and apple orchards to
a petting zoo and a winery.

We were there Sunday and there were easily 1500 people
at the farm.

All spending mo.ney.

They had a restaurant and two barns housing buffets…
…all full with at least a 30 minute wait.

They went through several hundred people an hour
purchasing pumpkins.

Oh – and this place is at least 35 minutes out back roads
into the country.

But I'm not telling you this to share how I spent my
Sunday.

I'm telling you because I got some unexpected lessons
from Huber's Farm.

1. Don't be afraid to go against the norm. Everyone
else picked their own crops…they decided to do the
opposite.

2. The easiest way to grow your business is to sell more to the
people already buying from you.

3. The second easiest way to grow your business is to go
one degree away from what you already do. For the
Hubers it was expanding to offering different fruits and
vegetables to pick – especially popular seasonal ones – and
other ways to use their assets - like their crops and land.

Do me a favor and think about how you can apply those
lessons to your business.

I'm thinking about how I can apply them to mine;)

Dedicated to your success -

Pat

P.S. - We're re-opening the Bootcamp Blueprint
next week with more hands on coaching than ever
before. Are you ready?

Do you need this?

In my opinion, we all need a few things to be
successful.

We need a goal.

We need some talent / knowledge / skill.

We need a willingness to work. To hustle.

We need a big enough 'why' to drive us.

But there's one other thing we need if
we want to reach our potential.

You can learn what that is here:

Like Billionaire Charles Simonyi

Alright Aff,

Like Billionaire Charles Simonyi who flew to the moon one last time
in March as a civilian, this is absolutely your last time to join
an exclusive group who sit around and do nothing but profit on
someone else's hard work.

==> http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=CB443&m=1eJm71onnMltGP&b=D1UjgTZG4Fu1svDOIJLyvA

I've shown you how in-depth Craig's PLR Niche Club is and what it's
capable of delivering. If you honestly can't see the value in
someone else providing you with FRESH PLR products on a monthly
basis with a comprehensive research and product development already
done for you, you really have to consider what's holding you back.

Is it the price? I mean, what would it cost for you to do the same
thing he's providing?

Is it the products? Are all the dozen of PLR products he's
providing not touching your niche at all?

Do you already have all the PLRs he has? Quite impossible of course
if he's creating new ones every single month.

==> http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=CB443&m=1eJm71onnMltGP&b=D1UjgTZG4Fu1svDOIJLyvA

But hey, I understand. A $1 trial is just too much to handle. Oh,
you didn't know it was only $1? You'd better hurry though.

See ya on the other side!

I just got some beef from Craig…

Aff, remember I was telling you about Craig Michaels
and his PLR Niche Club?

He's complaining about giving everyone a 3-day trial and that he
wants to raise the price soon.

So just for me, please don't go here: http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=CB443&m=1eSQKRk9nMltGP&b=uhAoIgLTs_avDsAbqbjzYg

I found out he's not only giving you access to a PLR directory, but
providing you with a membership site PRELOADED with SIX months of
content. Talk about instant and automatic residual income upon
setting it up.

He's providing his members with 2 brand new PLR products every
month. He has his team doing all the niche research, website
design, product development and has a six-figure copywriter
do the sales copy.

He's insane!

He's even providing an article spinner that allows you to create
new articles on the fly. You don't even have to think about
writing. It's done in just a few mouse clicks.

Recycled PLRs are useless

Hey Aff,

Let's face it, the majority of the PLR products you're buying or
selling out there are re-hashed, re-used and abused crap that's
been around for about a decade.

Everyone and their mom already have it. How are you supposed to
make money with it if they already have what you have?

It's like waving a dollar bill at someone when they're waving a
2-dollar bill at you! Not funny!

So anyway, I just got an email from a guy named Craig
Michaels. You probably never even heard of this guy.

He started a PLR club of his own. I know nothing unusual, right?
You see plenty of these "clubs" lying around. But then he took it a
step further.

He's now paying some 6-figure copywriter to do the sales letter for
all of his new PLR products every single month. I don't know where
he's getting the money, but I'm very impressed with the caliber of
the products he's providing to his members on a monthly basis.

So yeah, I'm upset because he's beaten me to it and he's done such
a good job at it. So to get back at him, I convinced him to give
you a 3-day trial!

You have 3 full days to check out his products and download
whatever you want. Seriously, you have full access!

Check it out:

It's only $1!

Enjoy!

Fool’s Gold

In the past couple of days I've talked to
several trainers that are looking for more
campers and clients.

They're not close to where they want to be.

Strangely enough, they're primarily focused
on getting their leads from the internet.

Not the best idea.

Look – I think online marketing is a valuable
piece of the puzzle.

It ain't the whole puzzle.

Let me tell you a story.

Back when I ran a training company that contracted
with the largest Gold's Gym franchisee in the world.

That Gold's gym franchisee went out and bought a
CD with thousands of before and after pics to use
in their marketing materials.

Not people who worked out at their gym…just a CD
with great before and after's – that now people
thought were their members.

Shady, shady, shady.

So how's this relate to online marketing?

Because in any decent sized market there
are dozens, hundreds…even thousands of trainers
with websites, posting Craigslist ads and even
doing PPC.

How do they separate themselves?

The quality of their service? Nope.

Their personality, energy and passion? Nope.

Their track record, credentials or experience? Nope.

3 ways and 3 ways only:

1. Copy. Headlines, copywriting, etc.
2. Before and after pics.
3. Price.

That is a slippery slope.

That's why I talk so much about networking,
relationship marketing and public speaking.

Offline stuff.

Let me show you why:

http://www.fitpics.com/

At that site you can go get a bunch of fake before
and after's. Heck, their pic in the gallery at the
bottom of the home page has been used on so
many scammy acai berry sites it's scary.

Anyone can pay a copywriter on elance and grab
some before and after's.

People steal Holly's before and after's all the time.

The prospect will never know the difference.

So don't rely only on online marketing. Use it
as one of several things you do.

Combine offline and online. Get out from
behind the computer.

It's the fastest and most effective way to grow
your business.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

Need Venture Capital or Investment for your company?

Dear adsdsf,

The No. 1 Funding, Angel and Venture Capital event is closing next week.

We'd like to encourage you to apply to present at the Angel Capital Summit! It's free, takes about 30 minutes, and no business plan is required. If you're not sure you need investors, or if you're not sure you're ready for them, the process you go through while building your ACS application will help you figure this out. Just follow this link to get started: http://businesscatapult.com/refcode/pg6184

Once you've completed your application we'll review it with you and connect back to discuss what you need to work on to move forward. If appropriate, we'll submit it for you to the 90+ investors and advisors on the ACS Exec. Committee. They'll select the best of the ACS applicants early in Nov. and work with them on their investor presentations until the ACS on Nov. 17th. Just applying gets you GREAT feedback, and all comments made on your application will be released back to you post the ACS.

This is a once a year event that we strongly encourage you to take advantage of! We're looking forward to seeing your application. The deadline is midnight on October 20.

Best,

Jorge S. Olson
