So if you want to finally build a fitness bootcamp 50, 75,
100 or even 150 campers strong – act fast!

51 is the answer

If you want to build a 10K per month bootcamp
you need 51 campers paying you $199 per month.

That all.

51 Campers.

We've helped Jeff & Tiffany Larson get their camps up
to 217 campers.

Ben Warstler to 195 campers in a town of about 3000 people.

Steve Krebs to 160 campers.

Tyler English to 152.

I'm pretty darn sure we can get you to 51 if you
follow our Blueprint for success.

But I'll warn you – you've got to be willing to do
the work.

There's no such thing as a fr.ee lunch.

Run like he!1 from anyone who tells you otherwise.

But *if* you're willing to do the work, we have a proven
formula that's built camps all around the globe.

A variation of the formula that helped Nick & I build
a training business to over 400 clients in a small town
in Kentucky.

So you don't have to worry about asking 'will it work
in my town?'

If it can work here – or in Ben's tiny town in Vermont, it
will work anywhere.

So you need to ask yourself:

"Do I have what it takes to get 51 campers if I'm given a
proven Blueprint for success?"

If the answer is 'Yes', then you have until 3pm today to
grab your Blueprint for a 10K per Month Bootcamp here:

http://www.thebootcampblueprint.com

The Bootcamp Blueprint is a lot more than that…it's all the
business systems and tools you'll ever need to run your
camp.

But don't forget – you need 51 campers and – if you're
willing to do the work - the Blueprint is *guaranteed*
to get you there.

http://www.thebootcampblueprint.com

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – 3 p.m. EST – that's your deadline if you want
to ensure 2010 is the year you get to 10K per month.

3 Things You Need

We're in the middle of franchise training this
week for our newest Athletic Revolution
franchisees going over the foundation of
running their AR location.

While I can't share the details of what we
cover – as it's proprietary and exclusive to
AR frachisees – I can share the key components
that go into any successful fitness business.

To build a successful business, you need:

1. A training system. If you don't have a training
system you're not going to be able to build and
maintain a successful business.

Ever wonder why no one else talks about that?

I do.

Kinda like telling someone to market the heck out
of a restaurant – but who cares if the food sucks.

2. You need operational systems. No operational
systems mean that you'd better plan on running
your camp or facility until you're 80.

No vacations, no sick days – no expansion.

If you want to ever grow beyond trading time
for dol.lars – operational systems are a must.

3. Marketing & Sales Systems. This is the one that
gets the most attention from everyone else, but
without the other two – it can't create a successful
business.

But if you have the foundation of the other two
in place – the right marketing and sales systems
are what propel you to a 6 or 7 figure business.

The reason you've not seen tons of marketing for
Athletic Revolution yet is that we are committed
to making sure that #1 and #2 are just as ready to
handle 70 or 700 franchisees as they are 7.

Honestly, most people don't do things that way.

Lots of sizzle – not so much steak.

Heck, we had to fire some 'advisors' of ours
because they were entirely focused on #3.

To heck with #1 and #2.

But I *promise* you…if you slight training and
operations you'll be looking for the next fad
or new get ri.ch scheme before long and the
trainers that mastered the 'trifecta' will be
thriving.

By the way – you have about a day left to
Secure your spot in the Bootcamp Blueprint
before it closes until 2010.

All the systems you'll need to build a 6 figure
camp – in one spot.

Don't miss out:

http://thebootcampblueprint.com/

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – Ever wonder why so many of the franchised
studios and sports performance facilities close?

All sizzle – no steak.

Their loss is your gain – if you're ready:

Sorry

I wanted to say that I'm sorry if you have already been
locked out of your area for the Bootcamp Blueprint.

About 100 of our Members have upgraded their
Memberships to keep competitors from using this
powerful resource.

People like Tyler English with 152 campers.

Like Steve Krebs with 160 campers.

Like Ben Warstler with 195 campers.

They, like about 100 others, have locked up their areas.

So if you are in their towns, I apologize.

But if want to have access to the same marketing, sales
and business operations systems that have helped them
build camps that generate over 20K per month, then
you need to join the BCBP before Friday.

http://www.thebootcampblueprint.com/

Review the 3 options and see which is the best fit for
helping you build a 10K or more per month camp.

But remember, the doors close on Friday at 3pm.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – When you register for one of the 3 options, we'll
reply to you promptly and let you know if your area has
already been 'locked.'

But don't wait – I got 3 more emails from current members
today asking to lock their areas because they knew we were
launching. There will be more tomorrow. They know how
powerful the Blueprint is...

“I was robbed”

It came to my attention on Friday that some lady named
Tracey Rodriguez was passing herself off as a bootcamp
business expert by basically stealing some material that
I've created, removing my name, the product name and
the copyright – then giving it away as her own.

After notifying her that this was a felony – therefore she
was a criminal that I was going to pursue with legal action
– apparently she's taken my info down as her opt in gift.

Normally I wouldn't mention something like this to you
as it's not the first time it's happened.

But the reason I'm telling you now is this:

The fitness bootcamp landscape has changed in the past
12-18 months.

There are over 2000 camps out there – all fighting for
campers – just like you.

Because of this surge in the number of camps out there –
and the 1000 more that will pop up in 2010, scam artists
like this Tracey lady are popping up trying to market
themselves as the solution to help you beat the competition.

Don't fall for this crap.

Over the next week, I'm going to give you a number of
strategies that I promise you will grow your bootcamp…fr.ee
of charge.

Stuff that's been proven time and time again in the businesses
that we've owned and with our Bootcamp Blueprint members.

In addition to that – we're going to open up the Bootcamp
Blueprint for 72 hours to accept new members.

Proven tips. Proven strategies. Proven systems.

A proven program that produces 5-figure a month camps.

So be sure to watch your inbox for emails this week and
check the blog over at www.PatNickandJim.com.

Tons of great bootcamp building info coming your way
all week long!

Have a great week!

Success Made Simple

You want to have an extraordinary career?

Make six-figures or more?

Love what you do?

OK – then I have a simple formula that I'm
certain with get you there:

Step 1: Identify what you love doing.

Are you passionate about working with baseball
players, basketball players or volleyball players?

Do you love helping people lose weight?

Whatever it is that you're passionate about – start
there.

Step 2: Become an expert.

Study what it is that you're passionate about. Read,
listen to audios, watch videos, go to seminars and
do internships. Seek out knowledge & experience.

Step 3: Spread the word.

Let as many people as you can know what you do.
Offline and online. Talk to people. Write. Speak.

Give away sessions, info, you name it.

Share value.

Step 4: Hustle.

I've never met any great success that just worked
9-5. Put in the time. Do more than most will do.

That's it. Success made simple. Follow that formula
and you'll be on your way.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

P.S. – If you train athletes…no , scratch that…if you
train anyone, Mike Boyle is about as good a resource
as you'll find to help you with step #2.

This is nothing but B.S.

Yesterday I got to read a comment from the
founder of a small certification organization
where he suggested that when it came to
youth fitness, you couldn't control what kids
ate or when they went to bed.

Are you freaking kidding me?

It's called parenting.

Let's pray he doesn't have kids.

But that really is kinda what failure stems from
in a nutshell.

People don't want to take responsibility.

They pass the buck.

Instead of stepping up and doing what it takes
to achieve something – most people choose
to instead make excuses or take the path of
least resistance.

Success isn't rocket science.

If you read the blog over at www.PatNickandJim.com
you'll see that Donovan Owens is a huge success.

He's upped his income to almost 20K per month
and his wife has already retired (she's 30)…and
it's because he took responsibility for making
his goals a reality.

He had plenty of excuses at his disposal.

He has a family so…

…He's too busy.

…He couldn't give up his steady job and take
the risk.

But Donovan doesn't have time for excuses.

He's too busy being successful.

So make sure that if you want something,
you're willing to step up and take responsibility.

Take action.

I don't care if it's raising healthy kids by taking
responsibility for what they eat (I have an 8yr old
and as opposed to what this guy was implying,
8yr olds don't do the grocery shopping)

or

If it's growing your business by taking responsibility
for getting better as a trainer or as a business
person.

Do yourself a favor – ignore B.S. like that and
do what it takes to achieve your dreams.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – If you haven't read Donovan's business tips
and his awesome story – check it out:

They all miss this

There are a number of people giving advice on
how to grow your personal training business,
health club or fitness bootcamp.

A handful of people serving only the trainer market
another dozen serving health clubs.

They all talk about direct mail, internet marketing,
referral programs and a few other things.

All very important – and I talk about that stuff too.

But the thing I *never* hear them talk about is how
important getting results for your clients is to your
business success.

You may be able to get clients – for a little while – if
you don't focus on delivering results.

But what no one tells you is that focusing only on
marketing and sales and ignoring being a great
trainer or coach is a recipe for disaster.

You want to know why the health club industry is
struggling?

Because they focus only on chasing new members.

They don't give a darn about the people already paying
them.

So you need to do two things to be successful:

1. Learn how to attract clients

2. Learn how to get clients the results they want

I talk to you every day about number one.
Don't ignore number two.

And if you want to earn a graduate level education in how
to be a better trainer or coach…how to deliver results every
time…check out Mike Boyle's new resource here:

http://tinyurl.com/ygx6q43

There is no one in the industry I respect more than Mike
and no one better to help you become a more effective
trainer or coach.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – Think about how disappointed you feel when you see
a great ad for a restaurant or an awesome preview for an
upcoming movie – then your experience with the service,
food or movie sucks.

Don't ever make your clients feel that way.

What I learned at the farm

We took Tyler to a local pumpkin patch Sunday.

Well, not just a pumpkin patch.

A place called Huber's Farm.

The Huber family is pretty smart.

Back in the 60's they placed an ad in the paper
and invited people to come pick their own beans
when they had too many beans for their family to
pick themselves.

They were floored when a bunch of 'city folks' came
out, excited to do the stuff they thought of as 'work.'

People would come, pick fruits and vegetables and
pay the family for what they took home.

The Hubers added a restaurant, a store and now have
everything from pumpkin patches and apple orchards to
a petting zoo and a winery.

We were there Sunday and there were easily 1500 people
at the farm.

All spending mo.ney.

They had a restaurant and two barns housing buffets…
…all full with at least a 30 minute wait.

They went through several hundred people an hour
purchasing pumpkins.

Oh – and this place is at least 35 minutes out back roads
into the country.

But I'm not telling you this to share how I spent my
Sunday.

I'm telling you because I got some unexpected lessons
from Huber's Farm.

1. Don't be afraid to go against the norm. Everyone
else picked their own crops…they decided to do the
opposite.

2. The easiest way to grow your business is to sell more to the
people already buying from you.

3. The second easiest way to grow your business is to go
one degree away from what you already do. For the
Hubers it was expanding to offering different fruits and
vegetables to pick – especially popular seasonal ones – and
other ways to use their assets - like their crops and land.

Do me a favor and think about how you can apply those
lessons to your business.

I'm thinking about how I can apply them to mine;)

Dedicated to your success -

Pat

P.S. - We're re-opening the Bootcamp Blueprint
next week with more hands on coaching than ever
before. Are you ready?

Do you need this?

In my opinion, we all need a few things to be
successful.

We need a goal.

We need some talent / knowledge / skill.

We need a willingness to work. To hustle.

We need a big enough 'why' to drive us.

But there's one other thing we need if
we want to reach our potential.

You can learn what that is here:

Like Billionaire Charles Simonyi

Alright Aff,

Like Billionaire Charles Simonyi who flew to the moon one last time
in March as a civilian, this is absolutely your last time to join
an exclusive group who sit around and do nothing but profit on
someone else's hard work.

==> http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=CB443&m=1eJm71onnMltGP&b=D1UjgTZG4Fu1svDOIJLyvA

I've shown you how in-depth Craig's PLR Niche Club is and what it's
capable of delivering. If you honestly can't see the value in
someone else providing you with FRESH PLR products on a monthly
basis with a comprehensive research and product development already
done for you, you really have to consider what's holding you back.

Is it the price? I mean, what would it cost for you to do the same
thing he's providing?

Is it the products? Are all the dozen of PLR products he's
providing not touching your niche at all?

Do you already have all the PLRs he has? Quite impossible of course
if he's creating new ones every single month.

==> http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=CB443&m=1eJm71onnMltGP&b=D1UjgTZG4Fu1svDOIJLyvA

But hey, I understand. A $1 trial is just too much to handle. Oh,
you didn't know it was only $1? You'd better hurry though.

See ya on the other side!

I just got some beef from Craig…

Aff, remember I was telling you about Craig Michaels
and his PLR Niche Club?

He's complaining about giving everyone a 3-day trial and that he
wants to raise the price soon.

So just for me, please don't go here: http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=CB443&m=1eSQKRk9nMltGP&b=uhAoIgLTs_avDsAbqbjzYg

I found out he's not only giving you access to a PLR directory, but
providing you with a membership site PRELOADED with SIX months of
content. Talk about instant and automatic residual income upon
setting it up.

He's providing his members with 2 brand new PLR products every
month. He has his team doing all the niche research, website
design, product development and has a six-figure copywriter
do the sales copy.

He's insane!

He's even providing an article spinner that allows you to create
new articles on the fly. You don't even have to think about

Recycled PLRs are useless

Hey Aff,

Let's face it, the majority of the PLR products you're buying or
selling out there are re-hashed, re-used and abused crap that's
been around for about a decade.

Everyone and their mom already have it. How are you supposed to
make money with it if they already have what you have?

It's like waving a dollar bill at someone when they're waving a
2-dollar bill at you! Not funny!

So anyway, I just got an email from a guy named Craig
Michaels. You probably never even heard of this guy.

He started a PLR club of his own. I know nothing unusual, right?
You see plenty of these "clubs" lying around. But then he took it a
step further.

==> http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=CB443&m=1aXIFhqHnMltGP&b=MHdNUfLISvH.9ZCS9MNPPQ

He's now paying some 6-figure copywriter to do the sales letter for
all of his new PLR products every single month. I don't know where
he's getting the money, but I'm very impressed with the caliber of
the products he's providing to his members on a monthly basis.

So yeah, I'm upset because he's beaten me to it and he's done such
a good job at it. So to get back at him, I convinced him to give
you a 3-day trial!

You have 3 full days to check out his products and download
whatever you want. Seriously, you have full access!

Check it out:
==> http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=CB443&m=1aXIFhqHnMltGP&b=MHdNUfLISvH.9ZCS9MNPPQ

It's only $1!

Enjoy!

Fool’s Gold

In the past couple of days I've talked to
several trainers that are looking for more
campers and clients.

They're not close to where they want to be.

Strangely enough, they're primarily focused
on getting their leads from the internet.

Not the best idea.

Look – I think online marketing is a valuable
piece of the puzzle.

It ain't the whole puzzle.

Let me tell you a story.

Back when I ran a training company that contracted
with the largest Gold's Gym franchisee in the world.

That Gold's gym franchisee went out and bought a
CD with thousands of before and after pics to use
in their marketing materials.

Not people who worked out at their gym…just a CD
with great before and after's – that now people
thought were their members.

Shady, shady, shady.

So how's this relate to online marketing?

Because in any decent sized market there
are dozens, hundreds…even thousands of trainers
with websites, posting Craigslist ads and even
doing PPC.

How do they separate themselves?

The quality of their service? Nope.

Their personality, energy and passion? Nope.

Their track record, credentials or experience? Nope.

3 ways and 3 ways only:

1. Copy. Headlines, copywriting, etc.
2. Before and after pics.
3. Price.

That is a slippery slope.

That's why I talk so much about networking,
relationship marketing and public speaking.

Offline stuff.

Let me show you why:

http://www.fitpics.com/

At that site you can go get a bunch of fake before
and after's. Heck, their pic in the gallery at the
bottom of the home page has been used on so
many scammy acai berry sites it's scary.

Anyone can pay a copywriter on elance and grab
some before and after's.

People steal Holly's before and after's all the time.

The prospect will never know the difference.

So don't rely only on online marketing. Use it
as one of several things you do.

Combine offline and online. Get out from
behind the computer.

It's the fastest and most effective way to grow
your business.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

Are you ready?

Times are changing in the fitness industry.

Gyms are going out of business.

Nautilus just stopped selling commercial equipment.

I'm headed to speak at Club Industry this week and
their attendance is expected to be way down.

But some fitness businesses are thriving.

Some people would tell you it's that those
businesses market better.

I don't think so.

Bally's & Nautilus seem to be pretty well known.

Didn't help them.

Hey – I love marketing, but all sizzle and no
steak is a recipe for disaster.

A lot of 'marketing minded' people will never
say that – but it's a fact.

No 3 letter sequence or fancy SEO will save you
if you're a sh&*ty trainer or coach.

All the shiny equipment in the world won't
overcome not caring about your members
or clients.

The good news is that if you're good at what
you do – or willing to do what it takes to get
there – marketing is a whole lot easier.

Two of the best in the business – Mike Boyle
and Alwyn Cosgrove are doing a fr.ee teleseminar
and they're going to talk about all this and more.

They're going to tell you what no one else will
about the state of the industry and what you need
to do to succeed.

Listen here:

The industry is moving in a direction that favors
us…but only if we're prepared – and Mike & AC
will help get you ready for the opportunities
coming your way.

Wow, does the industry need you!

Holly and I stopped in the gym yesterday morning

for a quick workout and while we were there, we

saw:

:: A dad who was coaching his football playing son

through 28 sets of chest (yes, I counted 28!!!). During

this workout I heard the dad ask his son how many

'perfect pushups' he did the previous night.

His son answered '200.'

The dad responded with 'that's not enough!!!!! You

need to be doing 300 a night – EVERY NIGHT!'

At that point I threw up in my mouth a little.

:: One of the club trainers working out, loading the

bar to 405, walking it out of rack, barely bending his

knees for a single 'rep' and walking it back in.

Then he walked over and started bragging about

his max effort squat to a couple of guys in the gym.

:: A 'bodybuilder' that had a 50 lb dumbbell in each

hand and was basically posing, moving the dumbbells

around so he could admire the definition in his arms

and shoulders…

…until he swung one of the bells a little too far and the

momentum caused him to fall over a bench and almost

bash some unsuspecting person in the skull with the

dumbbell as he crashed toward the ground.

Amazing.

I'm not sure exactly why I told you about this…I guess it

just reinforced how much the industry needs more

professionals like you and how much of an impact we

still need to make.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. – Jim made a great post on the blog talking about

what clients go through before they ever get to you.

Based on what I just saw, I'd like to add answer 'F' to

his list: Going to the gym and being surrounded by a

sea of stupidity.

21 Tips For Biz Growth

I've been slammed this week with the
launch of the IYCA's Youth Speed & Agility
Specialist Cert, a DVD set launch for Holly's
Business and a few other projects.

But all this stuff made me put my thinking
cap on when it comes to business growth,
so here are 21 tips you can use:

1. Offer strong guarantees. The stronger
the better.

2. Have an upsell for everything. A minimum
of 20% will take it.

3. Make it easy to buy.

4. Use EFT…95% of people pay things monthly.

5. Find ways to get people on recurring programs.

6. Add downsells to convert more prospects.

7. Sizzle is fine in marketing, but education is better.

8. A transaction is the beginning of a relationship,
not the end of one.

9. Find the void in the market – and fill it.

10. Relationship marketing trumps all other types
of marketing.

11. Opportunities are endless, but you can't act on
them all at once.

12. Treat prospects like clients and clients like family.

13. Public speaking and the online versions like
U-Stream and webinars are under used tools.

14. Scarcity Creates Action

15. Give to get. If you treat people well, you'll be
paid back 10X over.

16. The better the follow up, the better the business.

17. There is *at least* 10K hiding in every business.
Most people never look for it. I start by looking
for it.

18. Price is elastic…have you checked how far yours
can stretch?

19. Combine what you already have / offer to create
new things to sell.

20. Don't step over dol.lars to pick up pennies.

21. If you don't believe it can and will happen…it
won't happen.

A bit 'all over the place', but it's been that kind of
week ;)

Enjoy the weekend!

Don’t let the door hit ya…

Over the past 10 years I've lived in 6 different
cities, all in Ohio and Kentucky.

Portsmouth, Dayton, Cincinnati, Lexington,
Elizabethtown and Louisville.

In every one of these cities – and in the dozens
of cities that I've visited during that span for
work or the occasional vacation, the same thing
*always* happens:

I talk to someone from that city and they
complain about living there.

"There's nothing to do."

"The local economy is bad."

"It's too (hot, cold, humid, rainy, windy…fill
in the blank.)"

Two things come to mind each time this
happens:

1. Having lived in towns of 20,000 and cities of
over 500,000 – and also spending months in
bigger cities like Chicago, Atlanta and Miami – I
firmly believe that where you live is what you
make it.

Everywhere has it's advantages and disadvantages…it's
up to you to make the most of what you've got.

2. In every town I've lived, there are these big green
signs that tell you how to get out of town. If things
are so bad, follow them.

If something isn't the way you want it – complaining
isn't going to fix it – but action probably will.

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

our Mastermind Member Donovan Owens has a few spots
left in his 12 week Power Networking program.

the class starts on Tuesday:

Stop waiting…start doing!

A couple of weeks ago I met a new trainer at

the gym Holly and I go to.

He saw a shirt I was wearing with the logo

of the University I used to coach at and asked

me if I knew the current baseball coach there.

Apparently that coach (one of my former

players) was a coach of his when he was in college.

Small world.

After a couple of conversations this young man

started asking me for advice.

He wants to train athletes, but is training at the

gym to pay the bills.

He has no space, no athletes and no equipment –

so his initial thoughts were to put off pursuing

his passion until he has better circumstances.

My advice: the only way better circumstances

are coming is if you go and get them.

Find a way to start training athletes now.

Go to a local baseball academy, other sports

training facility or independent gym / studio

and pay a percentage to train athletes in their

space.

Get by with minimal equipment.

Train at the gym he's in during the mornings to

get by until his other business has traction.

Perfect circumstances aren't coming.

If you want things to happen you have to stop

waiting and start doing!

Dedicated to your success –

Pat

P.S. - Since I'm on a baseball theme today, I
wrote a blog post sharing 7 Keys that coaching
baseball taught me that I use in business today.

The King’s Lesson

One of my mentors, Bob Morgan, would often
give talks on motivation.

One segment of his talk was a story that you may
have heard before – here it is:

Long ago a King gathered then wisest men in his
Kingdom and told them to assemble all the great
knowledge in their civilization so it could be
passed forward to other generations.

The wise men worked several years before
Returning to the king with a ten huge volumes
filled with knowledge.

The King took one look and said "Too long!"

The wise men edited the ten volumes into one
and brought it back to the King.

With one glance he again replied "Too long."

Another two years passed before the wise men
brought one concise paragraph back to the
King.

He still wasn't satisfied.

Finally the wise men brought the King a single
sentence inscribed on a card.

He smiled and said "now all future generations
can see understand the foundation of our great
success. All of our genius is contained in this
single phrase. The sentence read:

There's no such thing as a fr.ee lunch.

The foundation of your success will be built on
that single phrase too.

27 Personal Trainer Productivity Tips

Hope you had a great weekend!

Holly and I went up to Indiana University
to watch Ohio State play the Hoosiers.

Got back and went straight to work yesterday
as we've got a number of big projects we're
in the middle of right now.

Since productivity is the word of the day
here with all we've got going on, I thought
I'd share some of my best tips over at the

Be Who You Are

Over the past few months I've seen a variety of people
go into niche markets because they were following the
m.o.n.e.y – not because they were passionate about
what they were doing.

Big mistake.

But I see it everywhere.

I see big businesses try to move away from their core
business and jeopardize their entire operation.

I see business coaches think that expertise in one area
translates into a different market only to lead those new
clients astray.

But I think I see it most of all in our industry.

If you LOVE training athletes…train athletes. Don't chase
clients in adult fitness or corporate bootcamps.

If you train adults and love it – don't go into the youth
market just because it's growing so rapidly.
Stay true to your passion.

You can literally make a fortune in any type of business.

But it requires having a passion.

And it requires doing what it takes to be better than the
competition.

And it will take a lot of work…and if someone tells you
differently, they're lying through their teeth.

But if you're true to who you are and put in the work –
Success is going to happen – guaranteed!

Have a great weekend!
