Gyms are going out of business.
Nautilus just stopped selling commercial equipment.
I'm headed to speak at Club Industry this week and
their attendance is expected to be way down.
But some fitness businesses are thriving.
Some people would tell you it's that those
businesses market better.
I don't think so.
Bally's & Nautilus seem to be pretty well known.
Didn't help them.
Hey – I love marketing, but all sizzle and no
steak is a recipe for disaster.
A lot of 'marketing minded' people will never
say that – but it's a fact.
No 3 letter sequence or fancy SEO will save you
if you're a sh&*ty trainer or coach.
All the shiny equipment in the world won't
overcome not caring about your members
or clients.
The good news is that if you're good at what
you do – or willing to do what it takes to get
there – marketing is a whole lot easier.
