for a quick workout and while we were there, we
saw:
:: A dad who was coaching his football playing son
through 28 sets of chest (yes, I counted 28!!!). During
this workout I heard the dad ask his son how many
'perfect pushups' he did the previous night.
His son answered '200.'
The dad responded with 'that's not enough!!!!! You
need to be doing 300 a night – EVERY NIGHT!'
At that point I threw up in my mouth a little.
:: One of the club trainers working out, loading the
bar to 405, walking it out of rack, barely bending his
knees for a single 'rep' and walking it back in.
Then he walked over and started bragging about
his max effort squat to a couple of guys in the gym.
:: A 'bodybuilder' that had a 50 lb dumbbell in each
hand and was basically posing, moving the dumbbells
around so he could admire the definition in his arms
and shoulders…
…until he swung one of the bells a little too far and the
momentum caused him to fall over a bench and almost
bash some unsuspecting person in the skull with the
dumbbell as he crashed toward the ground.
Amazing.
I'm not sure exactly why I told you about this…I guess it
just reinforced how much the industry needs more
professionals like you and how much of an impact we
still need to make.
Dedicated to your success –
Pat
P.S. – Jim made a great post on the blog talking about
what clients go through before they ever get to you.
Based on what I just saw, I'd like to add answer 'F' to
his list: Going to the gym and being surrounded by a
sea of stupidity.
