How We Got 48 Leads Yesterday

Our health club generated 48 new leads *yesterday*.

Did we hold a referral contest?

Nope.

Did we have a member appreciation event?

Nope.

Did we run an ad in the paper or on the radio?
Not a chance.

The way we generated those 48 new leads was much
easier than any of those approaches.

I'll tell you all about how we got those leads over at
the blog...

Are You Getting Better?

You're either getting better or you're getting worse.

Every day.

You're either growing your business or you're missing
opportunities to grow it.

You're either becoming a better trainer or coach - or
others are gaining on you or passing you by.

You're either learning how to leverage your time and
become a better business person - or you're losing
another day that you don't get back.

I mention this because I'm off to Perform Better in
Long Beach early tomorrow morning, where a lot of
trainers and coaches will be getting better at what
they do.

I hope to see you there, but if you're not going to be
there - you still have plenty of opportunities to get
better right in front of you today or this weekend.

You could Mastermind with some local professionals.

You could attend a networking event.

You could read a new book or listen to a new CD.

You could test some new things in the gm you've
been studying.

You could secure two more speaking engagements.

Of course you could register for www.bootcampbootcamp.com
or another upcoming event like Evan Osar's upcoming
Symposium or Alwyn Cosgrove's program design workshop.

You could even sell something;)

You get the picture.

Set a goal of improving yourself as a business person, as
a coach and improving the current state of your business.

And make the deadline Sunday at midnight.

Let me know how you did on Monday!

Dedicated to your success -

Pat

P.S. - If you want to make your training sessions
instantly better, Workout Muse's new Ultimate
Tabatas might just be what you need

Clone Yourself

To grow your business beyond your own Shadow
you have to find ways to 'clone yourself.'

Unfortunately, most trainers are pretty bad at this
concept.

They just can't let go.

I understand - because you're right if you're thinking
that they won't do things quite as good as you do.

But you shouldn't expect them to.

You're the business owner.

But I'd guess that if they do things 80-90% as well
as you - that's good enough to deliver a great experience
and outstanding results.

And it allows you to better leverage your time, knowledge,
reputation and experience.

So here are the 2 things you need to do to 'clone yourself':

1. Replicate the technical and tangible things.
2. Replicate the 'experience.'

To replicate the technical and tangible details, you can
create systems & completion plans for everything from
setting up your training sessions to doing assessments.

Document what you do in great detail so that someone
else can execute what you do.

To replicate the experience - that's a little tougher
because it's harder to quantify. You need to make sure
the energy remains high and the atmosphere continues
to be inspiring. Honestly, the best thing I've seen
for this is Workout Muse.

Their latest offering, Ultimate Tabatas, has drawn rave
reviews from pros like Mike Boyle, Dave Schmitz and
Robert dos Remedios. You can save $50 if grab it in the
next 72 hours. Check it out here:

http://UltimateTabatas.com

So there you have it - simple ways to start 'cloning
yourself'.Now all that's left is for you to get started!

What’s Success Mean To You?

Everyone wants success in one form or another.

Some just dream about it, while others do something
to achieve it and it means something different to
each of us.

For some it means making more mo.ney.

For others it's about freedom to spend time with
friends and family.

Personally, I've always preferred John Wooden's
definition of success:

"Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of
self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to
become the best you are capable of becoming."

Jim shares his thoughts on business success over
at the blog:

http://www.PatNickandJim.com

What does success mean to you?

Leave a comment and let me know!

Have a great week!

Pat

P.S. - Tomorrow Workout Muse Ultimate Tabatas
will be released and you'll have a 72 hour to grab
your copy and save fifty bucks. I previewed it and
you're not going to want to miss this for your clients

7 Things You Can Do Today To Jump Start Success

If you want to be more successful, you're in luck.

Here are 7 things you can do *today* that will
jump start your progress toward achieving your
goals:

1. Get motivated. Read or listen to something each
day that motivates, inspires and educates you.

Give yourself a little boost to make the most of
your day.

2. Stop being a victim. Focus on what you can do
and stop looking for excuses. Take the attitude
of ownership.

Don't try to change others, make a decision then
take action.

3. Plan your tomorrow. Take 10 minutes at the end of
every day to map out what you *will* do tomorrow. It's
your daily roadmap for success.

4. Review and re-write your goals. You should review
your goals everyday to make sure that your actions are
moving you closer to them. An easy way to internalize
your goals is to re-write them on a daily basis. It
will take 2 minutes and the payoff is enormous.

5. Keep track of everyone you meet. Your most
valuable asset in business is your personal network.

Record the name, contact info and any notes from
your conversation. With each addition to your
network you are expanding your success team.

6. Contact 2 members of your network. You don't
want to reach out to people only when you need
something. Shoot someone an email, make a call
or send a card. Ask someone to lunch. You never
know what doors might open if you do...

7. Register for Bootcamp Bootcamp;) Did you think
I was going to skip this one? You need to continue
to educate yourself and if bootcamps or any type of
group training is part of your master plan - this is
a must attend event. You can register here:

Simple Success Formula

Want to grow your business?

Here's a simple way to do it - but don't
mistake simple for ineffective.

Here's how it works.

Get a big wall calendar that has at least 4 months
on one page. Office Depot and Staples have them.

Hang it on a prominent wall.

Then get a big red magic marker.

Each day that you invite at least 1 person to your
facility or camp for a fr.ee trial, you get to put
a big red X over that day.

After a few days you'll have a chain. Just keep
at it and the chain will grow longer every day.

You'll like seeing that chain, especially when
you get a few weeks under your belt.

Your only job is to not break the chain.

Daily action builds habits.

Small actions turn into large improvements - quick.

And skipping one day makes it easier to skip the next.

So don't break the chain!

Put It In Writing

By now you know AJ Roberts - the 'behind the
scenes' guru for a lot of what we do in our
businesses.

AJ handles most everything we do with websites
and blogs - as well as doing a bunch of other
stuff imperative to our business success.

AJ makes his way to Kentucky once a month for
a 'state of the business' meeting where we plot
things out and put projects to paper.

A couple trips ago we decided to put a project on
paper that was exclusively AJ's.

We did the same things we always do:

:: We did an inventory of his available assets

:: We assessed the market for what would be well received

:: We mapped out each component of the proposed project

:: We identified a timeline for each component to get finished

Well, the project is almost ready to be launched so I
Thought you'd want to see how it all has come together.

You can check it out here:

http://www.upyourbench.com

I'd guess you're a lot like AJ. You have ideas and
knowledge that could be generating you profits - if
only you laid it out as a project to get completed
and knocked of each component one by one.

My suggestion is that you study what AJ has done
and use it as inspiration to map out your own
project.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

More Money With Less Work....

I wanted to share a quick story about two
of our students with you...

'In July of 2008 we were operating 11 boot
camp classes in 5 different cities and although
our bank deposits that month were $26,200, we
were spread way too thin and not giving our
clients the type of service that we wanted to.

We decided to sell 2 of our locations and by
December of 2008 our income dropped to $
10,017.

We had to figure out how to make the same
amount of mo.ney while offering a high level of
service with boot camp classes as we were
with 11 classes.

When we started working with Pat, Nick Jim & BJ
I thought we would get some good tips and some
helpful information but after being in the boot camp
business for 3 years I wondered what more could
we possibly learn.........

I am not exaggerating when I say that working with
them completely changed our business it changed
our clients lives and it changed our lives.
The information they provide is TOP NOTCH.....
and Pat, Nick, Jim and BJ overdeliver every month!

I am happy to report our June 2009 deposits total
$26,542 (that doesn't include some of our supplement
sales and misc. income). Each month it gets better.

The mon.ey is great but the best thing is our clients'
results! We learned how to use a transformation contest
to increase our clients and it did but the best part is that
we are just finishing up and using their strategies, done
for you content and meal plans our clients have made
some MAJOR changes.

Over the last 3 days we took after pics of women who
have lost anywhere from 10 to 35 lbs., 1-3 clothing sizes
and 3-8 inches in their hips and waist. They are so happy
and we are so happy that they are happy.

I plan to work with Pat, Nick, Jim and BJ as long as I can
and I am so grateful for making the decision to join!

The 5 Things Holding You Back

Here are 5 things that are often the difference
between success and failure - or at least mediocrity.

1. You don't set *real* goals and hold yourself to
them.

Most people dream big dreams, but never set anything
tangible and spend their time muddling along from
one thing to the next. Do you have specific goals
and measure yourself against them regularly?

2. You're lazy.

No one wants to hear it - but most of the failure
I see is tied directly to not doing enough or not
doing enough of the high ROI stuff. You need to
be working smart doing the right things and stop
wasting time on things that don't move you closer
to where you want to be if success is your goal.

3. You don't believe in yourself. All successful
fitness pros - and successful people for that
matter - have enormous self-belief. They know
that they have something special to contribute
and they are determined to make their mark. This
shouldn't be confused with arrogance - rather
a self assured attitude that you have the
talent, passion and work ethic necessary for
success.

4. You are comfortable.

It is easy to settle. Why bother stepping
out of your comfort zone if you're doing OK.
Well, if you want to be a high achiever you're
going to have to take some risks and get out
of your comfort zone.

5. You are not around enough high achievers.

Let's be honest, most of the time your friends
and family are not going to challenging you
to achieve more. Spend more time with high
achievers and other entrepreneurs. They will
encourage you, inspire you and hold you
accountable.

Take a long hard look in the mirror and if
you're not where you want to be - it's
likely that one of these obstacles are
standing between you and success.

If you are one of the motivated 125 in
Louisville on September 11th and 12th - we're
going to help you remove those roadblocks
and give you everything you need to make
your bootcamp a huge success.

But register fast as we're already half-full
and well be raising the price $100 at the
end of July (if any seats are left.)

Enroll here:

http://www.bootcampbootcamp.com

Have a great weekend!

Pat

P.S. - We've not added it to the sales page
yet - but we just decided to film the event
and all attendees that register by the 24th
will get online access as a bonus;)

Don’t Make It So Hard

Our Elite Mastermind Member Ben Warstler
lives in a small town in Vermont.

3000 people...that's pretty small.

He has over 140 bootcampers.

How?

He's made things simple.

He's implemented only the highest return lead
generation strategies.

He's implemented a systematic approach for
turning those leads into paying clients.

He's implemented a comprehensive system
for getting his campers to stay longer and
refer more.

140 campers in a town of 3000.

You can enjoy this kind of success - but you
have to implement the most effective, high-return
systems and avoid all the 'time vampires.'

At Bootcamp Bootcamp we're going to work with
you hands-on to do just that.

Ben will be sharing his most effective systems,
as will the rest of our Elite Mastermind members.

All you have to do is come ready to implement
what you learn.

We'll take care of the rest.

But act fast - we only have 125 seats available
and the price will go up $100 at the end of July
(if any seats are left)...plus we have an unannounced
bonus we'll tell you about soon that will make
implementation once you're home a snap.

So reserve your spot today:

http://www.BootcampBootcamp.com

Dedicated to your success -

Pat

P.S. - Some of our MM Members have started
a contest to see who gets to 200 campers first.
I'm sure a couple of them will get there by
Bootcamp Bootcamp...and we're going to show
you exactly how they did it.

Are You Prepared?

Are you prepared?

I'm watching the All-Star game and reminded
that in sports everyone has the 'will to win.'

The elite have the will to prepare.

If you want to want to build a *great* business,
you've got to be willing to prepare too.

Everyone wants to have a full schedule or full
camps - but only those willing to do the real
leg work to generate prospects, close sales and
make the most of those client relationships will
ever build a *great* business.

We've identified the core elements that go into
building a successful fitness bootcamp.

The stuff you need to do to prepare...

The highest return marketing activities.

The best system to close sales.

How to get clients to pay more and stay longer.

Where to find the best locations for your camps.

How you can hire and train employees to run camps
for you.

We know all the strategies and tactics necessary to build
a five-figure bootcamp.

And on September 11th and 12th we're going to personally
coach 125 motivated fitness pros on implementing the
things that will grow their bootcamp the minute they get
home.

These 125 trainers are going to be prepared to build a
five-figure bootcamp.

Will you be one of them?

http://www.bootcampbootcamp.com

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

P.S. - Check out the schedule - no fluff. Only result
producing, hands on sessions. And that doesn't even
include the session on finding your perfect location
and adding members to your team. (Just added after
talking to our Elite MM Members.)

Don't miss out as the 125 spaces will fill up fast.

There’s Plenty of Opportunity

I was looking around on ESPN.com over
the weekend and stumbled across an article
discussing the most powerful boosters in
college sports.

I looked down through the list and couldn't
believe my eyes - there was a man that had
once given me his card and told me to call
and he'd help me climb the coaching ladder.

Just give him a call.

I never called.

It reminded me of a few other opportunities
that had come my way but I choose to pass on.

A few coaching jobs and business opportunities
that might well have led to great things.

But things have worked out pretty well for me
in spite of passing on what a few people told me
were 'once in a lifetime' opportunities.

I'm telling you this because I see it every day -
more opportunities popping up all over.

So don't worry about the one you might have
missed out on or chosen not to pursue - focus
on the ones here right now and keep your eyes
open for the ones that will show up soon.

Because they are coming.

You just need to take action on the ones that are
right for you.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

It’s a New Day

When I was a baseball coach our team was among
the best offensive teams in all of college baseball,
and one of the keys that helped that to happen was
this...

...the Clean Slate.

Each hitter had the mentality that the next at bat
was the only one that mattered.

It didn't matter if they'd struck out 10 times in a
row - all of that was just experience that helped
prepare them for their next at bat.
You should feel the same about business.

Business is about optimism and opportunity.

It doesn't matter what happened yesterday.

Prospective clients might have decided not to
Buy, or maybe they didn't even show up for their
appointment.

You might have made a dozen calls trying to
get speaking engagements and been turned down
every time.

Maybe you had 3 different clients stop working with
you...all in the same day.

Doesn't matter. Today is a new day.

Take what you've learned and make the most of
the opportunities that come your way - and if
they don't come fast enough, go and find the
opportunities yourself.

'You can't go back and make a new start, but
you can start now and make a new finish.'

I'm not sure where I first heard that - but it's a
quote that I take to heart and you should too.

So go out and make it happen today.

Dedicated to your success -

Pat

Work is a Verb

The definition of Work is 'to exert oneself.'

Work isn't easy. It can be demanding, stressful,
challenging - and at times physically and mentally
exhausting.

No wonder most people don't want to do it.

We live in a world where most people spend their
time making excuses and rationalizing why things
don't go their way.

Being lazy is a heck of a lot easier than doing the
work.

And because of this - a lot of work goes undone.

Which creates an ENORMOUS opportunity for
someone who is willing to do the work.

And an ENORMOUS opportunity for reward.

If you build your business around the mindset that
work is an action and not an observation, those
rewards will go to you.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

P.S. - Today we're meeting with one of our 2 Elite
Mastermind Groups and yesterday we had a group in
for 1 day of coaching.

The members of both of these groups are all
intelligent, talented and all that other 'stuff'
that people identify with the successful...but
the thing that really sets them a part is that
they are willing to do the work.

Are You Wowing Them?

By now you may know that I'm a huge Disney fan.

Well this is their definition of marketing:

Do what you do so well that people can't resist
telling others about you.

When your clients leave your studio or camp, they have
to be saying to themselves - "Wow! That might have been
tough - but that was a lot of fun!"

That is the kind of feeling that produces abundant referrals.

That is the kind of feeling people express after being in a
Disney park.

It is NOT enough to deliver results.

If those days ever existed, they are gone now - unless you're
the only personal trainer in town.

You have to deliver an extraordinary experience in even the
smallest aspects of your business.

The clients have to be "blown away."

You have to knock their socks off.

I'll give you a quickie tip that will give you the picture - 'the
thoughtful gift.'

On the second day that a client comes in, *give* them a bottle
of VGF-25 or whatever supplement you recommend.

Tell them that you want to make sure they get off on the
right foot with their training and with the added demands
they'll be placing on their body, you wanted to make sure
they have the right nutritional support.

They'll be "blown away" that you gave them something of
real value - not as a bribe to get them to buy, but because
you want them to be successful.

These kinds of "little things" for "big impact" is what internal
marketing is all about.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

17 Factors That Control Referrals

We all know that referrals are the preferred way to
grow a business.

Referrals are 'easier sells', they buy more and stay
longer.

Well, here are 17 'inside' factors that determinate
the referral rate in your business:

1. The environment in your business - cleanliness,
layout, energy and overall atmosphere.

2. A Wall of fame. Before and afters on the wall.

3. Success Notebook / Binder with testimonials & pics.

4. Your personal image and your team's image.

5. Your newsletter.

6. Referral Recognition.

7. Busyness. If you look busy, people are more
likely to refer.

8. Sending cards.

9. Making personal calls.

10. Client appreciation events.

11. 'Bring a friend' events.

12. Handouts, samples and other courtesy items.

13. Transformation Challenges.

14. Client or camper of the week awards.

15. Getting results.

16. Referral rewards and contests.

17. Asking.

If you want more referrals in your business, take a look
at that list and figure out where you can improve.

The better you are at the list, the better your
referral rate will be.

Dedicated to your success -

Pat

Independence Day

Tomorrow, on July 4th we'll be celebrating
Independence Day here in the U.S.

Whether you're in the U.S. or not, you should
take this time to think about your own personal
freedom.

Do you have the freedom in your life to do the
things you want to do?

When I talk about building your business - that's
basically what I'm talking about.

Freedom.

If you earn more, have better systems, automate
parts of your business, leverage your time more
effectively and have multiple streams of income -
what do you get?

More freedom.

Freedom to spend more time with your family.
Freedom to do more of what you want to do.

Freedom from the fear of lost income if you get
sick or choose to take a vacation.

Remember your business is a vehicle for 2 things:

:: To help as many people as you want to help.

:: To provide you with the freedom to enjoy the
life you want and deserve.

Have a Great Weekend!

Pat

P.S. - If you missed it yesterday, on September 11th
and 12th we'll be holding the first ever Bootcamp
Bootcamp right here in Louisville, KY.

We will be giving first dibs for the limited seats to
Bootcamp Blueprint members - so if you want to
be considered for the seats that are left - let me know.

Staring You Right In The Face

You'd be amazed at how many opportunities
that most people overlook.

There are probably dozens of opportunities
staring you right in the face that you've just
overlooked - until now.

Let me give you an example...

Within 2 miles of my house there are:

:: 4 Golf Courses
:: 7 Dry Cleaners
:: 9 M.D.'s or Chiropractors

On top of that there are about a restaurants, a tennis
club, a golf equipment store and any number of
other businesses that serve people who would
make good training clients.

There is a homeowners association that offers
classes and workshop to their 1700 homes - and
has a monthly newsletter.

So within 2 miles of my house there are countless
opportunities if I was looking to grow a training
business.

I'd guess that no one is directly approaching those
businesses for JV opportunities.

I know that no one is marketing their training
business to the homeowners association.

It's most likely the same way where you're at.

There are probably a bunch of businesses that already
have access to the people you want as clients,
so don't let anyone beat you to them.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

P.S. - On September 11th and 12th we'll be holding
the first ever Bootcamp Bootcamp right here in
Louisville, KY.

I can't give you more details (yet) other than to tell
you that for bootcamp owners or aspiring bootcamp
owners it will be a MUST attend event.
