doing.' - Walt Disney
One of my favorite quotes of all time from my
favorite entrepreneur of all time.
Walt Disney went bankrupt and also lost the rights
to his first big animated character - Oswald the
Lucky Rabbit.
What did he do? He kept moving forward and built
the most prominent entertainment empire of all time.
He tried things no one else dared to try. He made
Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs when everyone
told him not to.
It became the top grossing movie of the year, won
an Academy Award and is regarded as the top
animated film of all time.
He dreamed of an amusement park like the world
had never seen - but no bank would provide a loan.
Instead of letting this stand in his way, he created a
TV show in exchange for getting a network to finance
his idea...and Disneyland became the theme park
by which all others would forever be measured against.
Today Disney's holdings do over 35 billion a year in
revenues - all because Walt took action on his ideas.
So let me ask you - what could you accomplish if
you just started 'doing' when you had a good idea?
Have a great weekend!
Pat
