You: A Celebrity

Have you ever thought about how powerful
an impact becoming the dominant fitness
pro in your area would have on your business?

Your income?

Your life?

Let me tell you a quick story...

Back when I took over as the Head Baseball
Coach at my alma mater at the ripe old age
of 23, I knew that I wasn't going to beat coaches
by 'out-strategizing' them.

They'd been doing this for years.

Me? I'd been doing it for days.

So my plan was 2 fold:

First, I wanted to create a system that was different
than what other programs employed.

We'd use a different approach to training and
how we'd go about playing the game.

Second, I wanted to make our program a 'big
deal.'

Instead of letting our Sports Information Director
send out our game scores, I'd do detailed press
releases and follow up with calls to the sports
writers.

In fact, I probably hand delivered 75 releases to
the newsroom of the local paper.

I sent out information to everyone from fellow
coaches to USA Today.

I knew this type of promotion would help us
recruit better players, generate more donations
and get more kids to our camps.
Before long we were getting a half-dozen feature
articles in the local paper each year...

I had my own radio show...

We were on CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX...

We even got mentioned in USA Today.

The result:

Donations to the program tripled.

By my 3rd season our 'second string' was
better than any previous team in school history.

Our camps regularly pulled over 100 attendees...

...from as far away as Canada and California (we
were in Ohio.)

Oh...and we went from being one of the worst teams
in the country when I took over to being nationally
competitive and even finishing 5th at the World Series
in 2000.

If you want the quickest possible path to
professional success, it's this:

Become a 'celebrity.'

If you want to make this happen, and happen
fast - let me give you our 'secret weapon.'

We've enlisted the help of J.W. Dicks and Nick
Nanton to help position Holly as the preeminent
Mom's Fitness Expert in the country as they are
THE go to experts when it comes to celebrity
branding.

In fact, we've hired them to help us launch the
IYCA's Youth Fitness Franchise.

They're that good.

But instead of keeping them all to myself, I wanted
to tell you about their new book, Celebrity Branding
You.

In it they share all the secrets Holly is learning in their
coaching course.

For about 1/1000 of the price.

Trust me - you want this book.

Since I know how much of an impact this book will
have on you, I'm going to make you a deal.

If you buy the book today and e-mail me the receipt,
I'll send you an audio I did titled:

'Turn Your Personal Training Business Into A Fitness
Empire.'

Here is the link for the book:

http://www.amazon.com/Celebrity-Branding-Revolutionary-Entrepreneurs-Expert/dp/1599320827/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1225261300&sr=8-1

Notice, it's not an affiliate link. In fact, you can buy
the book from anyone and send me the link today
and I'll send you the audio.

I think the book will benefit you that much.

So go grab the book, send me the receipt - and get
ready to become a celebrity!

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

Are You Better?

If you want to become a success in this or most
any industry, you really just need to be better than
everyone else at one specific thing.

Mike Geary is the best in the world at selling
fitness e-books because he mastered PPC.

Brian Grasso climbed to the top of the industry
by being better than everyone at youth fitness.

Jim Labadie first made his mark by being a
sales expert.

My wife Holly is a 'mom's fitness expert.'

You could be the best person in your town at:

:: Training baseball players

:: Getting brides ready for weddings

:: Working with diabetics

:: Generating publicity

If you can do one thing better than everyone else,
you can build a successful career.

(As long as you're at least solid at the other
stuff. It doesn't work if you're awful at everything
but the one thing you're great at.)

My buddy Chris McCombs is a perfect example
of that.

Chris was an ok trainer.

He was an ok salesperson.

But Chris is probably the world's best trainer at
getting targeted traffic to a website!

In fact, Chris outsourced the training and selling
in his business and focused entirely on driving
prospects to his sites...and it's resulted in him
now earning multiple six-figures and working
just a couple hours a day.

And he's done it by just being better than everyone
else at just one thing.

By the way, Chris has started sharing some of his
secrets at his blog:

http://www.kickbacklife.com/

If you're not visiting it regularly - you're missing
out.

He shares a ton of stuff that will be of GREAT
value to you.

So follow Chris' lead and choose one thing to
become better at than everyone else.

It could soon become the foundation of your
business.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

Getting People’s Attention

What are you doing to get people's attention?

The other day I sent you an e-mail about Holly
dressing up as Olivia Newton-John for a video
of a pumpkin workout.

Here it is if you missed it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7umUtYjWAgs

So far she has about 5000 views.

Then a couple of days ago I mentioned Ryan
Ketchum and Wil Fleming dressing up as
Richard Simmons and Tony Little to run a
Fr.ee Pumpkin Bootcamp.

They got 7 or 8 new clients out if it.

My buddy Chirs McCombs (more about him tomorrow)
made a blog post that had a 'hook' and got over 9000
visits in the first 48 hours.

I'm not saying you need to dress up as a 80's
fitness celebrity to generate business ;)

No, you just need to occasionally do something to
get people's attention.

My business partner Brian Grasso used an attention
grabbing press release to get in Newsweek and all
over TV and radio.

Every day Rocco Castellano is doing something that
grabs people's attention and it's made him a fortune
during his career.

So step out of the norm and do something a little
different.

If you see something in the news that gets you
worked up - send a press release about it.

If all the local trainers and clubs are doing the same
old tired New Years Resolutions marketing - do
something a bit different, or do something bigger.

The key is to avoid being ordinary.

Be different. Be better.

Just don't be bland and boring.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

P.S. - We've had a bunch of PTU members
parlay Halloween themed ideas into tons of
publicity and new clients. If you're not there
picking up on what's working - you should be.

They Do Everything Right!

I was just on the Disney website trying to
put together a vacation for Holly, Tyler and
me this December and absolutely loved how
they think of EVERYTHING.

Here are some cool ideas I took away that you
should be able to apply in your business:

Bundling - Disney offers to bundle everything
from hotels to meals and everything in between.

They're a 'one stop shop' where you can get
everything to complete your vacation.

You could do the same with everything from
training to nutrition coaching, supplements,
massage and various tools like heart rate
monitors or foam rollers.

Create different bundles that will make your
clients' lives easier and make you more income.

Upsells - For every thing that I added to my
package there was an upsell. I could upgrade
resorts, meals, travel or access to parks - you
name it.

For your business you could offer an upsell
from 3 visits a week to 4 or 5. You could add
supplements to nutrition coach. Always have
something more your clients can buy.

Funneling - Disney knows when their peak dates
are so they create special offers to fill in other
times.

If you have a bootcamp that rocks on M-W-F,
you could create a special offer to build up a T-R
one, or a different time slot.

Those are just 3 tips from the website before I
even ordered - but three things you should work
on applying to your business.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

P.S. - If you want hundreds of other tips, PTU is
the place to find them:

Doing It Right

Holly and I spent the weekend at her Alma
Mater, Indiana University hanging out, tailgating,
watching football and basically staying away from
work.

During our visit to IU we spent some time with
PTU and Bootcamp Blueprint members Ryan
Ketchum and Wil Fleming.

Ryan and Wil were both All-American athletes
at IU - so I guess we were visiting with celebrities ;)

We've been talking a lot about blueprints in the
past couple of weeks and I've gotta tell you - these
two guys have pretty much laid out a blueprint for
how to build a great business in a hurry.

Instead of sitting around talking about wanting to
make things happen, Ryan and Will have been
getting things done.

Two weeks ago they both drove to Louisville for
our little PTU get together.

Last week they both came to Chicago to the PTU
Event at Club Industry. When they found out that
We were having dinner at the hotel we were staying
at - they got a room to stay and learn more.

They're on PTU daily.

They saw what was going on with the whole 'Pumpkin
Workout' craze for publicity and put it into action with
a twist. They held a Pumpkin Bootcamp Saturday
morning where Ryan dressed up as Richard Simmons
and Wil dressed up as Tony Little.

The press release for this landed them on the front page
of the paper.

They got over 20 people at camp and turned 7 into
clients on the spot.

These guys are in their mid-20's and are getting ready
to open a state of the art facility.

After seeing how hard they work to learn - and then
immediately apply what they pick up - I have no
doubt they're facility will be a huge success.

Pretty simple formula:

1. Go to live events, study PTU & products, join
relevant coaching programs.

2. Apply what you learn doing everything from
building a powerful network and generating
publicity to leveraging your time with group training
and selling EFT based programs.

3. Be willing to pay the price early on by working
hard to get everything in place and build a real
business instead of just paying the bills.

Cliff notes version:

Learn it.

Do it.

These guys are a great example how truly
motivated fitness pros can build a thriving business.

If you're not taking action on what you're learning
in this newsletter and on PTU - make this the week
you change that. There is no reason you can't be
making your goals a reality just like Ryan and Wil are.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

stay on top of several business - and about 35 current

P.P.S. - Holly wanted me to thank so many of you for

I'm Outta Here!

I just wanted to give you a heads up and
let you know that I'm getting ready to leave
to go out of town for the weekend so I won't
be here for any questions you might have
about the Bootcamp Blueprint or to follow
up in PTU.

Sunday is my wife Holly's birthday so we're
heading up to Indiana University (her alma
mater) for alumni weekend to hang out.

Oh - and then I have to take her shopping
on the way home...ouch.

So thanks for all the questions and feedback
on the Bootcamp Blueprint program this week.

It's gonna be incredible!

If you haven't enrolled yet, you still have a
few hours...

Decisions, Decisions…

Today's the last day...

http://www.thebootcampblueprint.com

Every day we're faced with decisions.

Choices that will either move us closer to where
we want to be or push us farther away.

We spend most of our time trying to move clients
and prospects toward making those decisions that
move them closer to their goals...

:: We ask them to choose chicken over cheeseburgers.

:: Multi-vitamins over milkshakes.

:: Working with you at several hundred bux a month
instead of spending it on a new plasma TV or a trip
to Tahiti.

The better you are at educating and motivating your
clients and prospects to make decisions that are
consistent with their goals - the faster they get results
and the faster you grow you income.

But do you practice what you preach?

Are you spending the time you should be marketing
surfing the 'net?

Are you playing Xbox 360 when you should be
networking?

Are you sitting around complaining about no clients
when you could be out doing something about it?

Every day YOU are making the decisions that shape
your business and your future.

Are making the decisions that will grow your business?

Are you sending press releases?

Are you doing speaking engagements?

Are you asking for referrals?

Are you building your business to better leverage
your time?

Make better decisions, make more muney.

It's that simple.

Today is time for one of those decisions.

The deadline to enroll in the Bootcamp Blueprint
Program is 11:59 PM EST tonight.

Are you in, or are you out?

http://www.thebootcampblueprint.com

You know the right decision ;)

Are There Holes In Your Business?

Yesterday I had a call with Jayson Hunter, Jim &
Nick which centered around fitness professionals
leaving muney on the table in their business.

It's one of the biggest problems we see.

Trainers not closing the holes in their business.

It might be selling sessions in small packages instead
of on longer term contracts.

It could be bootcamp owners selling single month
camps instead of having campers enter into a recurring
agreement.

Or it often is trainers failing to selling additional
products and services to their clients.

Think about your business.

Do you have holes in any of the following areas?

:: Your lead generation system

:: Your sales system

:: Your pricing

:: Your billing / packaging / membership system

:: Your internal marketing / referral system

:: Your means of maximizing lifetime client value

:: Your service delivery system

If so, what are they?

I know it's not always easy to see them - but if you're
not looking...it's impossible.

Here's an exercise Nick and I used to do 3 days per
week:
1. Pick one of those areas and look at that specific aspect
of your business.

2. Identify the 'holes' in that area.

3. Take one action to close one of those holes.

Each day that you do this, pick a new area. Once you
get through the entire list of areas, go back and start again.

You'll systematically close all your holes and dramatically
improve your business.

In fact, that's what we're doing with the Bootcamp
Blueprint.

We're going through one area of your business in each
module and closing all the holes so it runs like a well
oiled machine.

So there is your assignment - close the holes in your
business.

And if you want our help, you've got until tomorrow
to join:

Dedicated to growing your business,

P.S. - Today we were on a call with one of our Mastermind

double his income. Hopefully you'll let us do the same for
you.

Taking Action & Your Questions Answered

I love people that take action.

Some people talk about 'making it big but don't
do much.

Others spend most of their time getting things done.

Today was a wonderful example of that.

You probably know how important I feel networking
is to your business by now.

Well, I probably met 200 new people at Club Industry
last week and really talked to about 50.

Needless to say, I've already emailed that 50 and
all of them will be getting a Send Out Card.

But I preach this stuff so of course I was going
to follow up.

No, what impressed me was that I got about 10 e-mails
today from people I met that we're not just the casual
"It was nice meeting you" but instead we far more
detailed.

These people really took action and decided to 'cement'
the contacts that they made.

I guarantee it will pay off.

It certainly made an impression with me.

*********************************************

I also wanted to take a minute to answer 3 questions that

I've been getting about the Bootcamp Blueprint. Here goes:

Q: Is the Bootcamp Blueprint for other business models

and can it be implemented for "indoor" and "outdoor"

situations?

A: The Bootcamp Blueprint is specifically designed for group

training. This can be run inside or outside. While most of

the components are applicable to any training business -

we recommend joining ONLY if you currently run a group

based training business or plan on launching one.

Q: Will there be all the necessary required forms and tools

provided?

A: Yep. Every tool, system and resource you need to run

the 'business side' of your business will be provided.

Q: The $199 is kind of steep for me. What if I can't

afford it?

A: Two part answer:

1. If the $199 prevents you from paying your rent or

feeding your family - I'd suggest that you pass.

2. $199 is probably less than the revenue generated by

one additional client and your first month has a 100%

Mon.ey Back Guarantee. There is really no risk.

You should easily be able to add several new clients

the first month to give you a great ROI on the initial

$199. If not, cancel and we'll give you a refund.

But - IF you do what we say you WILL get more

clients.

Here's where you can join:

Are You Leaving It To Chance?

After spending the last week in Chicago at
Club Industry and talking to hundreds of
people within the fitness industry I'm
convinced of this:

Successful people don't leave much to
chance.

But that I mean that they have a plan of
attack and systems in place to get them
to their goals.

Do you?

See, most of the personal trainers that I
talk to have read or listened to some of what
Jim, Nick and I have to say about publicity,
marketing, sales and a host of other business
building topics.

But they usually don't have a plan in place
to use what they've learned that will allow
them to reach their goals.

And they usually don't have systems in place
to implement what they know consistently
and effectively.

No, they often piece things together
haphazardly, make half-hearted efforts to do
much of what we suggest and get less than
optimal results.

But the ones who have a plan and implement
Systems...

...well, to quote Zach Even-Esh: "They Kill It!"

The really successful people I met at Club Industry
were the same.

If I asked how they generated leads or turned them
into customers - they all had a plan and systems
in place to get things done.
If you want to build a really successful business
I'd suggest that you do the same.

Have a plan.

Implement the systems to make your plan a reality.

Watch the client and muney roll in.

Sound good to you?

If you want a 'done for you' plan, we're about a
day away from launching The Bootcamp Blueprint
Program.

A plan.

Systems.

Plug them into your business and watch the clients
and muney start rolling in.

Read all about it right here:

http://www.strategicfitnessprofits.com

There you'll find out all about the 2 brand new bonuses
we've decided to include - bonuses that are worth
more than the cost of the program itself.

Get ready - you won't have to leave anything to
chance after Tuesday!

Do you just have a job?

One of my former baseball coaching
colleagues calls me regularly and every
time it begins something like this:

"Where are you, working at home again?"

"Yep."

"Man, how do you do that? You're never
at your health club, you aren't ever training
anyone - what's the deal?"

"I have businesses...I don't have a job."

"I don't know how you've pulled it off,
but man I wish I was in your shoes."

I get variations of the same thing from
fitness pros all the time too.

You know what?

There's no magic involved.

I could simplify it down to 3 steps:

1. Surround yourself with good people.

2. Have systems in place for every aspect
of your business.

3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 over and over.

But, if you want a more in depth explanation,
Jim has put together a great video telling you
how to hire people to run your bootcamps right
here:

http://tinyurl.com/bootcamp-instructors

Follow his advice and before long your friends
will be asking you how you have so much
fr.ee time;)

Have a great weekend!

The Answer

I've been here at Club Industry getting ready
for the trade show, holding 2 IYCA events and
prepping for the PTU meeting on Saturday, but
already I've been chatting with some of the
'big players' with Club Industry to get a gauge
on what they're seeing in the industry.

They all seem to think that health clubs move
too slowly when it comes to adapting to changes
in the market.

In fact, as a fitness pro - that is one of your biggest
advantages - the ability to adapt to the changing
marketplace more quickly.

Just a look around the vendors here is a huge
reminder that clubs aren't adapting to the things
most of us take for granted - most all of the floor
space is taken up by selectorized equipment and
fancy cardio.

Clubs wonder why their usage rates are awful,
attrition rates are high and more people are looking
for alternative fitness options than ever before...

...there is a clue. This could have just as easily
been 1988 except for the fancy screens on the
cardio.

But clubs are taking personal training in house,
pretty much eliminating the opportunity for
independent trainers in clubs. They see the
opportunity to make more from their members
and they're taking it.

They're slow, but they often eventually catch on.

This email was titled the answer, so here is the
answer as to how you can compete with health
clubs and win:

Stay one step ahead.

Youth fitness is an emerging market - so become
the established youth fitness expert in your market
before the clubs even make more than a half hearted
effort to run a youth program.

Beat them to the punch.

They'll also eventually see that bootcamps are a
huge opportunity - but your answer is once again:

Beat them to the punch.

But if you're going to beat them to the punch, you
need to do it now, because they almost always
eventually catch on.

Your opportunity lies in adapting to the changes
In the market quicker than the competition - so
don't waste it. Act on it now.

Before it's too late.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

P.S. - We've been receiving tons of questions
about our upcoming bootcamp coaching program.

Unselfish Self Promotion

Dear adsdsf,

I hope you are well.

I'm so excited today as my first book is completed: "The Unselfish Guide to Self Promotion". Let me tell you how it all started...

When I was 12 years old I decided I wanted to be a writer. I used to write every day. Mostly I wrote poetry but wanted to write short stories with deep emotional meaning. I wanted to communicate change, truth, happiness. As time passed everybody told me I could not be a writer, I'd be better off as a doctor, an architect or an executive. Writers, after all, don't make any money.

At that age I did not really care much about money, I cared about changing the world, about communicating emotions, motivating, and calling people to participate in social change. Yes, I was an idealistic teenager!

By now I did not just want to be a writer; I also wanted to be a missionary. I've been involved in missionary and social work for years and really enjoyed it.

Later on I realized that to help my family I needed to make some money. We lived in Tijuana, Mexico with no running water and no electricity. I realized it was irresponsible to just think of myself, my writing, and not my family. So I decided to put my writing and missionary work aside and study business to make money and help out in my household. I was 16 years old.

So I studied business and made it to CEO of a software company at 28 years of age. Later on I started a couple of businesses and sold them, I did consulting and was involved in many other business ventures. Now, at 37, I came full circle. It's now time for me to write.

My first book is finished. It is a motivational, inspirational and self help book all rolled up in one. It is called "The Unselfish Guide to Self Promotion". It will change your attitude towards life, family, even business.

You will learn how to be a master of self promotion and self marketing, how to sell yourself and raise your value. Now, with that said, it is not a sales book, it is a self help and motivational book. Why? Because before teaching you these powerful marketing techniques you also have to learn when and how to use them, and most importantly, how to use them to help others, not just for your own benefit.

I posted my book up on the website http://www.UnselfishPromotion.com for pre-sale at $13.97. This is a discounted price with free shipping because it is a pre-sale. The book will be in print next month and sold in bookstores at regular price.

There is also a video with an introduction of the book at http://www.unselfishpromotion.com/video.html that goes over the principles of "Unselfish Promotion" in only 7 minutes. The video also covers "Caveman Promotion" and how the world of promotion was invented.

This is the first of many books. I'm already working on 2 more books that are more on the business side. I'm also working on children's books... but this one, the first one, the unselfish one, consolidates a view that is of utmost importance, especially in these economic times. It poses deep ethical questions of yourself and others, questions that we have to ask not just ourselves but our politicians and business executives (especially in banking).

So participate in the "Unselfish Self-Promotion" world, read the new book, tell me how you feel about the book, and how we can apply the ideas and principles of the book. Find it at http://www.UnselfishPromotion.com

Thanks,

Jorge Olson

At The Center Of The Fitness Universe

So I'm here in Chicago at Club Industry,
THE trade show for the fitness industry.

We had a great IYCA certification seminar
yesterday and have an IYCA Mastermind
meeting for our members today.

On Saturday we have the PTU Event, and
in between we have a booth for the IYCA.

A pretty full week.

Even though I don't love being away from
home for a week at a time (fortunately Holly
& Tyler will be up for a couple of days), I do
really always look forward to attending stuff
like this because I ALWAYS go home with
ways to grow our business.

There will be thousands of people from all
sectors of the fitness industry and hundreds
of businesses represented at the expo.

I plan to learn from as many of them as possible.

Every event like this offers a chance to network,
learn what other people are doing, generate fresh
ideas and really take your business to the next level.

I think we all should make sure we get a little 'face
time' with other fitness pros at least once a month.

We had several people come to a meet up in
Louisville last Saturday. I'm pretty sure all of
us went home with some good ideas.

In fact, a few of them will be coming to Chicago
Saturday - so I'm pretty sure they saw some value
in this type of thing.

So if you're not getting to things like the Ryan Lee
Bootcamp, our live PTU events, our IYCA
Mastermind meetings or local gatherings - change
that immediately.

Do what our private mastermind group member
Zach Even-Esh did - create your own local
gathering.

Try to do something like this at least every 4-6
weeks. It will be fun, therapeutic, educational
and inspiring...certainly not a bad use of a few
hours.

And in between, stay active on www.personaltraineru.com.

Those two things together form a powerful 1-2 punch
that is guaranteed to grow your business.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

P.S. - If you want to attend the PTU event on Saturday,
all the info is at www.personaltraineru.com.

P.P.S. - We just secured a partnership with Club
Industry so that we'll be able to host a live event
in Boston next May as well. It just keeps getting better!

A Quick Tip...

I know that I already e-mailed you today but
I had a quick tip that I wanted to share.

One of the easiest ways to do anything is to
take something that's already been done and
find a way to make it your own.

So if you're looking to get more clients or some
publicity, take a proven promotion and just put
a new twist on it.

By now you've probably seen several examples
of people using the 'Pumpkin Fitness' workout
that Scott Colby and B.J. Gaddour and many
others have used to get on TV and generate
tons of publicity.

It's a great 'hook' and has worked for a bunch of
trainers - but I've heard a few people say that
someone else has already used this idea in their
town.

So why not find a way to tweak it and make it
your own?

My wife Holly came up with a great twist on
the Pumpkin Fitness workout for her subscribers:

She wore a costume.

Here is a video showing how she made the whole
Pumpkin Fitness her own:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7umUtYjWAgs

It will probably give you some ideas as to how you
can take this promo - or any promo for that matter -
and tweak them to make them unique.

It will probably make you laugh a bit too.

OK - Back to work here in Chicago!

We’ve Got Something To Tell You

I've always been someone who looked for
undervalued opportunities and emerging trends.

When I was coaching, the baseball community
undervalued strength training and some specific
variables in offensive performance.

I made those the core of our program and we took
a poorly funded program with very limited
resources to the top 5 in the country.

When I got into the fitness industry full time,
EFT billing, 12 month contracts and finding
ways to market to the middle class we're
almost completely untapped opportunities.

They became the foundation of our training
business that had over 400 clients in a town
of 23,000 people.

This same mindset led to us creating Holly's
Fit Yummy Mummy program and was
exactly why we got involved in the IYCA
and are launching a youth fitness franchise.

Undervalued opportunities and emerging
trends.

Well, there is another emerging trend:

Fitness Bootcamps

And while they're not really undervalued
anymore - they are the 'sweet spot' in the
fitness industry right now.

But because they're not that undervalued,
plenty of trainers are trying to run camps,
the key is having a system for successfully
running a bootcamp.

Anyone can say they have a bootcamp, but
the fact is that most people that launch camps:

:: Have fewer than 10 campers

:: Have no marketing system

:: Have no sales system

:: Have no system for maximizing retention & referrals

:: Having no system for maximizing the lifetime
value of their campers.
Well Jim, Nick and I have teamed up with B.J.
Gaddour to develop a system to change that.

See, there is a big difference in having a business
and having a successful business.

That difference is having systems that consistently
produce prospects, clients, referrals and revenue.

Now, you can't join this program yet...but if you
want to learn more about, Jim put together a
video that will let you in on what's about to
happen. Check it out here:

http://www.strategicfitnessprofits.com

When we do open the doors on the program,
they'll only be open for a few days. We're
only interested in working directly with action
takers and people who will implement what
we give them.

If you think that might just be you, take a
couple minutes and watch the video:

http://www.strategicfitnessprofits.com

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

P.S. - If you want a 10K per month bootcamp,
the blueprint is coming soon;)

Are You Getting Closer…

..To making your fitness business goals a
reality?

This past Saturday several PTUers met up with
me in Louisville to talk about making their
business goals a reality...and they are all well
on their way to making it happen.

Are you?

Hopefully the stuff going on with the economy
doesn't have you 'shook up.'

Hopefully it's given you a kick in the pants to
make sure you're tightening things up and building
your business to be better than ever before.

I'm leaving for Club Industry in Chicago this
Evening - to do that very thing.

Build our businesses to be better than ever before.

Let me tell you what we're doing from a business
Perspective:

:: We're holding an IYCA certification seminar
tomorrow. This will increase our member base,
strengthen our relationship with current members
and expand the global reach of the IYCA.

:: We're having an IYCA Mastermind to help our
current members make their businesses better. If
they get better - we get better.

:: Brian is speaking at Club Industry. This will
expand our presence in the health club side of
the industry.

:: The IYCA has a booth at the trade show. This will
help expose what we're doing to a lot of new people
in the industry and bring in hundreds of prospects
for everything from certifications to our upcoming
franchise.
:: Thursday we're filming 3 DVD's for parents that
will help us expand the IYCA into an entirely different
market.

:: Saturday we're holding a live PTU event. This will
strengthen our relationships with PTU members, help
build value in the other things we offer and create
tons of testimonials.

So that's how we're making our goals a reality.

But this isn't about us...it's about you.

We want to make sure that you are enjoying incredible
success, so Jim did a video to tell you exactly what to
do to start on your way to five-figure per month
bootcamp business and we got our colleague B.J.
Gaddour to give you an exact blueprint for delivering
killer bootcamp workouts.

It's all right here:

http://www.strategicfitnessprofits.com

Dedicated to growing your business,

Pat

P.S. - The video is awesome and B.J.'s training system
is incredible - so make sure you check them both out!

Are You Scared?

I was talking to my dad yesterday about business.

He owns a small automotive repair shop in
Portsmouth, OH. A town of 21,000 or so.

Portsmouth has an average household income
of 25K.

Yes, you read that right. 25 thousand bucks.

For a household.

So we were discussing how this turbulent
economy is affecting him.

Honestly, I figured I'd get a 'gloom and doom'
speech.

How everything is slow.

Heck, my dad doesn't even accept credit cards - so
he's pretty conservative.

But you know what he said?

I'll loosely quote:

"Business has been really good. I've made a few
changes to make sure my margins were solid,
started offering a few new services and gotten
all my best customers back in here regularly.

Actually, the last two weeks have been the best
I've had in a while."

Then he went on to say that some of the other
business owners he has coffee with in the morning
were doing just the opposite - they we're panicking.

Scared.

Honestly, I was pretty surprised...I figured he'd feel
that same way too.

Nope. He made some changes in his business and
adapted.

In the middle of his best month in 2008.

In a town where everyone is 'broke.'

Make no mistake, you should NOT ignore the
changes our economy is going through.

Ignoring these changes will assuredly lead to
bad things.

Instead - you should adapt.

You should change and improve as needed.

If my 58 year old dad that is as 'set in his ways'
as anyone I've ever met can do it in Portsmouth,
Ohio - you can do it wherever you are.

We want to help you adapt and make the necessary
changes to thrive in this changing economy - so
much so that Jim & I recorded an audio on this
very topic.

If you haven't listened to the audio, go listen to it
now and opt in below it. We've got some great stuff
in store for you over the next few days...stay tuned.

The audio is right here:

Have a great weekend!

Pat

P.S. - If you've already listened to the audio, be
sure to head over to the blog and leave your
comments about what we had to say...

http://www.strategicfitnessprofits.com

Did it help you clarify what needs to be done?

Have you already thought of a plan to use to thrive
in this changing economy?

Share your thoughts with me on the blog. We really
want to know what you think about the audio, so leave
a comment, okay?

Times are changing…

I've only been full time in the 'mainstream'
fitness industry since 2002.

But since then, look at what has happened:

:: A personal training franchise has gone from
zero locations to over 350.

:: Hundreds of fitness pros have built sizable
online businesses to augment or replace their
training income.

:: 2 separate 24 hour gym franchises have gone
from zero locations to over 1200 units sold.

:: Almost all commercial health clubs have
gotten rid of independent personal trainers.

:: One-on-one, hour long sessions went from
the only way to deliver service to one of the
least lucrative ways to spend your training time.

:: Bootcamps went from something only seen
during basic training to a mainstream offering
for fitness pros.

And that's just scratching the surface.

But let me tell you something...compared to the
changes coming our way over the next couple of
years - those might just seem small.

According to the media we're facing an 'Economic
Crisis'.

Regardless of whether you define it that way or not,
there is no arguing - this is a rapidly changing
economy.

And business owners are going to have to respond
to these changes...

...or suffer the consequences.

We're going to make sure you're one of the people
that not only survive this changing landscape - but
thrive in it.

And it all starts right here:

http://www.strategicfitnessprofits.com

Listen to the audio.

Read the transcript.

Then get ready for us to provide you with a
roadmap to navigate what lies ahead.

Listen to the audio now.

http://www.strategicfitnessprofits.com

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

P.S. - There will be a 'thinning of the herd'
within our industry as a result of the changes
we're facing. Jim, Nick and I are committed
to making sure your one of the ones who
benefit from it.

Wanna Know The Secret?

We just wrapped up an incredibly successful
year with our Trainer's Inner Circle coaching
group.

Everyone learned a lot. Heck, Nick and I
have been franchisees of a health club franchise
for 4 years and we provided members of the
TIC more business building information in 12
months than we've received in those 4 years.

But some TIC members really 'got it' and
doubled - even tripled their income.

So what was the key to those 'Super Achievers'
success?

Implementation.

They took what they learned and they implemented
it.

The results were astounding.

So we learned form this and decided to focus
all of our tools, resources and programs around
implementation moving forward.

That's why we came up with the Six-Figure 6.

A simple implementation system that can
produce HUGE results.

In fact it's worked so well that we've developed
a complete implementation system that you'll be
learning all about very, very soon.

This coaching program is going to produce
more six-figure fitness pros than any other program,
product or license ever introduced to the fitness
industry before.

But you'll have to be patient;)

In the mean time, make sure that you're on PTU
doing the Six-Figure 6 and taking action every
day.

Get ready though - it's coming...

Pat

P.S. - We've got this program, several live events
and a variety of other exciting things in the works
at PTU. Make sure you're not missing any of it:

Learn how to get 4,000 + contacts quickly to help get a great job, expand your business or close $100,000 deals.

Last week we awarded a $100,000 deal to a company who posted a question on LinkedIn. They didn't even contact us. They used just one of the 4 steps we'll list here today. LinkedIn has 25 million members. Learn how to tap this great Web 2.0 Social Network Resource.

We where also contacted by another firm looking for $800,000 worth of powered baby formula. All this came after adding almost 4,000 people to my network with a reach of more than 35 million people in just a few weeks.

Go to my blog to read the whole article. It's a good one...

It’s The Economy

I've been getting questions from fitness pros
about how the economy will impact their
business.

My stock answer: "It will impact your business
as much as you let it."

So instead of dwelling on the problems that the
recession / bad economy can cause, I'd much
rather give you some strategies on how to
thrive under current circumstances.

1. Find your sweet spot. In EVERY community
there is a sweet spot as far as pricing goes that will
allow you to penetrate the market. In Elizabethtown, KY
we found ours to be just under $100 per month. Once
we found it we accumulated about 400 clients.

So maybe the sweet spot is $199 per month where you are.
then you figure out what you can deliver at $199 that will
appeal to your target market. How about bootcamps at 3
sessions per week? Semi-private training for 2 sessions
per week? Create an offering that more people can
afford and make the number work for you through
the power of group training.

2. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. If you can
build group training business that produces 3K per
month. Then you build an online business that
produces 1K per month. Finally, you make recurring
income of 1K each month from Send Out Cards and
Prograde. That's pretty conservative - but it's more
than 2X what the average personal trainer makes.

If you can double up on that - which is VERY
possible - now you're one of the top 1% of earners
in the U.S. (if you're in the U.S.).

3. Go after the kids. Parents will spend on their kids
long before they'll spend on themselves. I watched it
the whole time I coached baseball in college and even
saw it with Tyler's T-Ball team. There were 2 kids that
both had new gloves, bats and cleats - easily an
investment of over $200 - while their parents
drove rusted out cars and wore shoes with holes
in the soles.

So go after the kids - using group offerings. That
market will never go dry.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

P.S. - The IYCA is the fastest growing organization in
the fitness industry - with good reason. The opportunity
in youth fitness is HUGE. Get involved at:

My Favorite Niche?

By now you probably know that I was a college
baseball coach for quite a while.

I doubled as the head S&C coach at the
University during that same span.

Oddly, that volume of work never paid very
well.

In fact, for my first 4 years as a head coach,
I never earned as much as 20K from the
school in a year. They made each of those
jobs 'part-time' so they could pay me less and
not offer me benefits.

I was young and wanted to make a name for
myself as a coach so I sucked it up and
decided I'd do other things to make ends meet.

So I began doing a lot of coaching 'on the side.'

I'd work with groups of 4 athletes at a time
to bring the price point down so that it was
manageable for families in Portsmouth, where -
as I alluded to Friday - the avg household income
is a whopping 23K per year.

I had a pretty simple system really.

I'd run 3 hour clinics for $35 per person or
$125 for a team.

I'd then offer the group coaching for $15 per
session, but they had to commit for a month
minimum (2 sessions per week.)

$15 per session may not sound impressive, but
that's 60 bucks an hour - which was incredible
for a 25 or 26 year old guy making 18K per year.

Probably made an extra 10K per year, every year
for 5 years straight.

Could've easily done more, but was traveling 1:30
each way twice a week to get my Master's Degree
for 2 years and spent a lot of time on the road
recruiting.

So this is what I've never figured out:

Why don't more fitness pros spend more time at
least creating a 'niched' part of their business
targeting baseball players, softball players, etc.

Volleyball, soccer, basketball, tennis, golf - pretty
much every sport outside of football.

They all get pretty much ignored by their high
school's S&C program.

If I could do 10K per year in a town that is in the
poorest area in Ohio as a side business - imagine
what could be done elsewhere.

In fact - if you're not working with the youth
population in some capacity - you're probably
missing out on the biggest opportunity you have.

Why do you think the IYCA has grown over 500%
this year?

So give some serious thought to working with some
baseball players or a different niched athletic
market.

Dedicated to your success,

Pat

P.S. - Some friends of mine that also happen to be
some of the best baseball performance guys in the
world are putting on a clinic that will help you
build the exact type of side business I'm talking
about. Check it out here:

P.P.S - If you worry about all this 'economy stuff'
this is probably a great fit for you as parents will
always continue to spend on their kids. Heck, a
new baseball bat is about 300 bucks now.

Are You Willing To Do What It Takes?

If I told you EXACTLY what to do to grow
your business, would you?

It's easy to say you would.

It's another thing to pay the price.

I told you earlier in the week to add two people
to your network each day and explained how it
would help your business.

Did you do it?

I'm not trying to call you out - well maybe a
little - just trying to illustrate a point.

I don't think that it's those who know the most
that are the most successful.

It's those that do the most.

I gave a script to members of the TIC to use to
do some telemarketing that I guaranteed would
drive prospects to their bootcamp.

I'll bet you that most of them didn't use it.

Why?

Telemarketing isn't comfortable. It's work.

I told a trainer that e-mailed last week that
I was confident I could go about anywhere in
the U.S. and get enough clients to live
comfortably.

That may sound cocky, but I'll remind you that
I currently live in a town that has a median
household income of 35K and the first place I
sold training had a median household income of
23K. If that sounds like exaggeration, look them
up on Wikipedia. Elizabethtown, KY and
Portsmouth, OH.

And it's not because I'm as good a fitness pro as
Alwyn Cosgrove or Stephen Holt.

It's because I'm willing to do some of that
uncomfortable stuff.

If paying the bills requires me to make 200 calls
a day, knock on doors or do 15 fr.ee sessions a
day to generate clients - then I'd do it.

I HAVE done it.

Holly and I were painting our gym in Owensboro
the day after we got married to make sure we
could get the club open.

I've done 18 intros in a day once. Closed 11.

I'm NOT suggesting I'm special. Far from it.

My 'why' was and continues to be big enough
and I am willing to do what it takes to reach my
goals.

That's all there is to it. No magic. Just willing to
pay the price.

So when you're reading this newsletter, studying
products and attending seminars - remember the
key is not what you learn.

It's what you implement.

Have a great weekend!

Pat

P.S. - I'm going to give you a great tip:

A Simple Blueprint For Success

You want multiple streams of fitness income?

You want to have a multiple six figure income?

Here is a blueprint that almost assures you of
success:

1. Deliver great service. Doesn't matter if you're
an employee, in home trainer, etc. get really good
at what you do.

2. Launch a business that has low overhead and
offers leverage. Think bootcamps, a low overhead
facility or leasing training rights from a club.

3. Build that business by creating raving fans,
being unique and training groups or doing
semi-private.

4. Take the time you've created by avoiding
one-on-one and focusing on group training to
develop ways to leverage your expertise and
expand the reach of your business. Think
seminars, workshops, corporate programs,
off site programs, information products, etc.

That's it.

It's a simple system, but most people aren't willing
to stick to the plan.

If you look at Alwyn Cosgrove's business - it looks
like this.

Brian Grasso - same thing.

Zach Even-esh - just like this.

Jason Brown and Pam MacElree - just like this.

In fact, our business - the Fitness Consulting Group
started this way and so did Holly's Fit Yummy
Mummy.

So there is your blueprint. Follow it, don't deviate
from it, don't re-arrange the steps and don't
improvise.

It may not be sexy and doesn't promise mil.lions
overnight - but it's as close to a guaranteed success
system as you'll ever come across.

Dedicated to growing your business,

Pat

P.S. - All those people I mentioned are on PTU.

Sell Something!

Sometimes I have to remind the trainers
we work with that while sending press releases,
getting on TV, making blog posts, writing
articles, creating product and all the rest are
great...

...they're all just a means to lead to you
selling something.

See, sometimes we have to keep our eyes
on the prize.

If you don't have enough clients or campers
are you waiting for something to happen...

...or are you making it happen.

When Holly & I were living in the basement
while we were getting our training business
and health club ramped up - I was laser
focused on selling training.

I didn't leave the gym without getting two
new clients. It meant some late nights, like
they say - if the want is strong enough you'll
find a way.

Even before that, when I was first running a
training department in a Gold's Gym, the
company had a bonus of $250 if you sold
12 deals in a pay period.

My goal every pay period was 36 deals and
I considered that $750 part of my regular
income.

I knew I needed 3 deals a day to make it
happen - and was relentless on getting
my 3.

So keep doing all those things...

Keep blogging, sending press releases,
writing articles and the rest.

But don't lose sight of the fact that selling
is what pays the bills.

Dedicated to growing your business,

Pat
